IMG, a brand management agency, came on board just prior to this season starting. One of their big commitments was (FINALLY) the development of regional and national television coverage of the NLL. After the Colorado Avalanche landed live home games on Altitude and the Toronto Rock got 10 games picked up by TSN2, the Bandits are the next to join the coverage crowd.

From today's TBN by Bandits beat writer Budd Bailey:
Quote:
The Buffalo Bandits will set at least one National Lacrosse League record this season -- most games shown live on television.

Thirteen of the 15 remaining Bandits' games will be shown live on Time Warner Cable Sportsnet this season. The schedule starts Saturday, when the Bandits play in Philadelphia against the Wings.

Home games will be produced locally and feature play-by-play announcer John Gurtler and analyst Randy Mearns, who will simulcast their description of the game on radio. Road games will be produced by the home team's network or the in-house broadcast feed. Webcasts of all games still will be available on nll.com.

"We are very proud to be making such a landmark announcement for both the Buffalo Bandits and the National Lacrosse League," said Michael Gilbert, the Bandits' director of public relations. "This kind of live television coverage is unprecedented in league history. It's tremendous news for Bandits fans, who are without question the most passionate fans in the NLL."

Terence Rafferty, regional vice president of operations, Time Warner Cable, added, "Like us, our customers are dedicated Buffalo Bandits fans, and so we are thrilled to provide live coverage of their games on Time Warner Cable SportsNet. Time Warner Cable is committed to providing our customers with the entertainment they want, including local sports programming not seen anywhere else. Today's announcement is testament to that commitment."

Few National Lacrosse League games have been shown live on television over the years. Colorado will show 15 games this season, but road games will be broadcast on tape delay. TSN2 in Canada shows 10 games involving the Toronto Rock during the course of the season.
