NPR did a story this morning that sales tax revenue from the first two games of the World Series and the playoff games has saved some St. Louis city employees from pay cuts and job furloughs.

Huh. Who knew?

Pat, the bull pen phone may have been a problem but that still shouldn't have prevented LaRussa from doing something when Lynn ran up to the mound instead of Mott. It really is a bizarre twist that demands some explanation no matter what exactly happened. It falls on LaRussa one way or the other.

Yeah crazy drama...from big blunders to big hits...a very entertaining series. What time for Hamilton to hit his 1st HR of the playoffs.

Dramatic dramatizing drama in the extra crucially critical play time.

I want Texas, but I want to see St. Louis win tonight and make the fans happy, and see one more game of this good stuff.

Like most of the rest of America, I'm a sap. I'm not a baseball fan and hardly ever tune into a game (not even the World Series), but I, and most of the country according to the tv ratings, have been missing one of the greatest sporting contests for a championship in history.

My loss. Truly.

Yankees extended Sabathia one year for an extra $30 million. Yay!

I can't believe the phillies get older and sign Thome. It also sounds like they might get another old guy in Michael Cuddyer(sp????)
