Good riddance to such a mediocre, over-heralded player.

So the day has finally come. Tedy Bruschi has retired. And the NFL has seen one of the greatest players ever to play the position of linebacker pass onward. Um...what? By the way the league talks about him, you'd think he was the pinnacle of human achievement. Bil Bellicheat called him the perfect linebacker.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's great that the guy survived a stroke. But let's be serious, it's not like he's Lance Armstrong and ripped off 7 straight NFL MVP seasons. The guy was a mediocre to good player, had a stroke, then came back and continued to be wholly forgettable aside from the media which takes every little sob story and turns it into Days of Our Lives.

Tedy Bruschi, yes, you read that right, one 'd' was never top ten in any significant statistical category. In his best season he was 15th in the NFL in tackes playing a position that continually leads the NFL in tackles. He was something like 40th in solo tackles that same year.

I remember the day he came back. The announcers ranted and raved about the impact that he had on the game. Now football is not like hockey where you can have an enormous impact and not show up anywhere on the stat sheet. In football, if you're playing well, the numbers will show it. Tedy Bruschi had but one tackle that night, no sacks and no turnovers. Big impact player. Puh lease.

So long Tedy Bruschi, I thought you were okay until the media decided to swallow your three inch steroid shrunken cock for four years. The only way any iota of you should ever set foot near the hall of fame is when you're in the audience at Brady's inception. Enjoy.

Wait he was this great LB?

No one knew his name until the Patriots won a Superbowl with him or until he survived a stroke. Wow many people survive strokes, he is lucky it didn't paralyze him.

He got tons of coverage in 05 when he returned from his stroke, despite never having a statistically significant season.
