I'm almost ready to start rooting for the Bills for the rest of the season, though it's totally against my nature. That said, I don't know Zilla, I still think the Sabres are going to end up with the more successful season. The playoffs might still slip away from the Bills. I mean, they still have to play the Dolphins twice...

I like the thread title. We very well could be heartbroken by the end of the season even still.

My expectations have gone up with each victory, so that I now look forward to a playoff appearance, at the least. I certainly didn't come close to having that hope at the start of the season.

Sort of reverse with the Sabres. I got caught up in the hype of the new owner and his drive for a Cup, so that I expected the Sabres to be one of the top three or four teams in the NHL right out of the starting gate.

I was being unrealistic. They still have a ways to go before they find their rhythm.

The Bills, on the other hand, just keep on truckin' along in a fine groove.

I'm being cautiously optimistic with the Bills. I've been so disappointed for a while that I don't want to set myself up again. I do think, though, that they've made great strides.

I had a dream last night that the Bills got to the Superbowl.

I don't know that I could count it a successful season if we made it to the playoffs, but lost both games to the Dolphins. Sometimes teams play down to their competition and get bit.

We've got a long way to go before we even up the series (the seventies were the dark years).

my sister and i used to joke about how much we love being bills fans because we know what to expect-- they never really let us down. this year has turned out much better so far than i expected.

so really, i can't even be mad about the past two weeks because who honestly thought we'd be sitting at 5-4 at this point ? definitely not me.

These past two weeks have been painful. Just trying to remember that after tonight we'll still be within ONE game of the division lead, with games to still be played against the Pats and Jets.

Hey, living here in Redskins county my season was complete after the shutout. Plus the total meltdown of the skins helps...LOL.

PLUS we still get to play miami twice. jets and pats already have one win each over them to help them pad their records.

I take my hat off to you, Buffalo Bills.

I thought I was too experienced, too jaded, too wise to succumb to your siren call. Not this year, Buffalo Bill professional sports franchise. No, no, no, I won't be sucked in, I defiantly posted back in early September.

And then, like the master that you are, Buffalo Bills, you found new and creative ways to make me believe. An exciting young quarterback, an explosive offense, thrilling last minute heroics...oh, you truly are the best at getting me to take the bait. Lucy's ability to convince Charlie Brown to take a shot at kicking the football every year is nothing compared to your guile and deceit, Buffalo National Football League club.

Another year, another football season, and once again you sucked me in, Buffalo Bills.

I salute you.
