i have a hard time believing that this will stay as severe. i think an appeal will only see 4-6 games for payton.

Not so sure about that. How would you even appeal it?? When you get caught juicing, you can say "I didn't know the supplement had it in it" or you can say, "the pot(gun) in the car wasn't mine". Payton has no leg to stand on. Him and Pete Rose may as well forget appealing their cases, because it makes it look like they feel what they did wasn't so bad, and the have no remorse. Probably won't happen.

On a happier note: Bills steal a sack artist away from the Pats(who also lost the law firm today and found out Mankins won't be ready).

FUKK THE PATS!

must be great being a Pat fan right now. Can't wait till Brady retires so we can hear the "how many superbowls did you win" arguments. That's always the last gasp of a dying argument.

you think it's easier to appeal finding copious amounts of drugs in your system than it is to argue that the suspension is too strong for someone that didn't administer it? williams was the mastermind. the NFLPA requested that players don't get punished due to "groupthink" or some stupid bullshit. if they don't get punished, no way a coach who only knew about it is out for a year.

yeah, it's a dying argument...the pats have averaged like 13 wins a season since 2001. I'd say they have a pretty strong argument. they haven't been bad since the early 90's. what kind of dumb statement was that? it's not like we're beating them at all in any department in the last 15 years and they're holding on to a fake notion of superiority...they're just better.

I'd put $50 on SP having to do his full year. FFS, the guy was basically glorifying putting people on disability. What if someone was killed? Then maybe give him a year? C'mon man.

BTW, the Pats comment wasn't directed at you personally(as I think I remember you being a fan). Any football thread seems to be a basic football thread. Just to prove I'm not being partial...

FUCK THE JETS!!!!!!
How long before fireman Fred starts chantinG. TEE BLOWWWWW.

The Bills have been the butt of the joke for over 10 years now. You can bet your sweet ass I'm going to roar when I see the Jets, Pats and Fins all self-destructing. This is a fine day that I will remember for a long time. Can't wait for the draft and season.

Williams is banned until further notice.

Payton's one year isn't so bad when you look at it in Williams' shoes. Out indefinitely.

At least Williams was smart enough not to appeal. It shows he understands the seriousness of his offense. Sean Payton must have some new evidence, because this fool wants a 3rd meeting with Goodell. Imagine bountygate =caught cheating on your girl:

Girl: "I never want to talk to you again. You hid this from me for years. I hate you. never talk to me again."

...3 days later...

Sean Payton: "I'd like to appeal your decision to break up with me. I have nothing different to say than I did 3 days ago, but figured I'd try this anyways."

I could understand an appeal if it were to a board or something, but this tool is going to have to face THE SAME JUDGE that gave him the punishment 2 weeks ago. Is he hoping Goodell is Mitt Romney???????????/

Guess what, Goodell hadn't changed his mind in those 2 weeks. lol
He did however, for reasons unknown, say he might give them money and draft picks back.
