My money is on Paille. Paetsch can play forward or defense, makes him a little more valuable to keep around to spell guys or fill in without call ups.

I want Paille to play. It's ridiculous that Ellis is getting playing time over Danny Paille.

Look for someone to end up on the "injured list" after the Coyotes game.

Easiest move to make right there. I'd put money on you being right, ETC.

I wouldn't miss tallinder and his 3.25 mill salary cap if another team picked him up. and if no one picks him up tallinder can work on his form and getting back to form in the AHL. Philadelphia had briere in the ahl to recover from an injury, i think they wanted to hide his salary as well. which i don't know how they are not suffering a penalty cause they are at least 4 mill over the cap.

In the preseason game I went to against Washington Paille looked great. He had a huge hit, looked fast, and made good entry decisions. Ellis does help out a little with consistency, leadership, and faceoffs. I'd have to think once Mair gets back Ellis is gone, because he is pretty much the same kind of player. At that point I'm guessing Kennedy is probably gone to go develope some chemistry with gerbe and ennis and paille is in.

sucks... but that would be the Buffalo thing to do

Not so sure. The league was sniffing around 2 years ago when Connoly was on LTIR with the post-concussion symptoms. They felt that the Sabres were 'hiding' Tim there to save on cap space, and warned the entire league not to try that.

It's probably not something they'd try to pull.

The whole Briere thing was allowed by the CBA, you can get like 3-5 games in the AHL for a conditioning stint.

There was a goaltender there for a few games also the other year, it might have been Emery after he had been injured.

For a short term "injury" nobody will say shit. They just need to give the "upper body" diagnosis, put the player on IR, and then reinstate after a few games when someone else gets an "injury".

Lydman says he's gonna be ready to come back, and Mair says he hopes to come back soon, as per Sabres.com

Well Myers needs to play to get better.

If Myers gets the bench over Tallinder, then Ruff should be fired.

How about getting rid of Roy and Talinder?? You'd get more if Roy was traded in a package with with Tallinder.

I'm actually okay with that depending on the return. Question is, who would be takers, and what could we pull in return?

This is a weird situation because even with Timmy not injured yet we are still pretty thin at center. I doubt Kennedy or Ennis are at a level where they can fill a void as big as our leading point scorers. And if they move Hecht back to 2nd line center I'm pretty sure I'll sell my minipack....

So i'd have to think we would have at least a #2 center coming back, but considering tallinder is basically a salary dump and we would be giving up a #2 center in Roy, I doubt this trade would go through without adding something a little sweeter or if we were to find another center elsewear beforehand

Holy bejeezus, not the "trade Roy" thing again!!!

I'm not on his bandwagon a whole lot, but who is going to fill in as a #1/#2 center, play PP and PK and lead the team in points for 4 mil?

That's right...nobody.

Besides, center depth is an issue. We have Gaustad, Mair, Ellis, and Hecht on the bottom two lines, but only Kennedy after Connolly and Roy for the scoring lines. No need to trade any centers.

what if kennedy started to go crazy in the scoring dept ? would you feel different about shipping roy ?

Not at all, because Connolly is probably only here for one more season.

Not really Paille has done nothing to earn ice time lately as Ellis has.

He signed an exstension though, no one will take Connolly at his salary unless he plays in all 82 games and has 80 points.
