Celebrating the Fortieth Anniversary of the Buffalo Sabres in the National Hockey League, the special exhibition Forty: The Sabres in the NHL will open on November 7, 2010. The exhibition features more than 200 photographs and film documenting the team’s history and character, and will debut a new and innovative video installation, NHL in 360°. The installation will give audiences a glimpse of the thrill that hockey players experience during the game—the required skill, brute physicality, and elegance of skating at great speed.

This seems really cool. I love when the Albright-Knox has exhibitions related to the Sabres or hockey. Tickets went onsale today. The Knox will also have the Stanley Cup and other trophies from the HHoF on display between January 2nd to the 5th to coincide with the World Juniors. I remember they did something similar a few years back and it was really cool. They also had a Q&A session with the "Keeper of the Cup" and he had a lot of fun stories to tell.

So I went to the exhibit today and it was awesome. You could spend hours there looking at all the great photographs taken over the years. There was a room that had a huge projection on a wall that showed the perspective of a hockey game from the players. It had the perspective of the goalie, the skaters, and sitting on the bench near Lindy and having him shout out orders. It was really neat. The exhibit goes until January 9th, so you have plenty of time to make it out, but definitely make sure you do! The Cup and other trophies will be there from January 2nd-5th during the World Juniors.

Here are some pics I took...

Great shots of the fans in the stands over the years.

I just love this one!

You can see the rest of the pics I took here.
