Yes, it would. We cannot have gaping holes at center for eternity.

Okay, but Connolly and a 1st will still NOT get anything better than Hemsky or Penner.

Connolly and a 1st wouldn't even get us Hemsky or Penner.

If a center can't be acquired through trade before Monday, then trading Connolly for any draft pick is giving up on this season. It's probably a lost cause Cup wise anyway, but giving up on playoff revenue is plain stupid. As much as people are down on Connolly, there is nobody around the roster or Portland that can play a top two line and fill the special team minutes that he does. Playing out the season with just Hecht, Gaustad, Adam, and McCormick at C would be a total embarrasment to the team and around the league.

The team isn't out far enough out of the playoff hunt to be cleaning house. Trade for another center or keep him.

Did we all forget about Paul Byron? Just saying, he was very good while he was up he went 29/71 on faceoffs, and can only get better by playing.

Also Adam wasn't bad in the circle, and hell, either of those guys could probably do equally as good as Connolly production wise, so the only thing we'd really miss by selling off Connolly with no return are the minutes he eats up on PP and PK, granted he's pretty good on special teams, but isn't a stellar, irreplaceable piece to our special teams.

agree and at least we don't have to worry about him turning over the puck that leads to a goal almost once a game. Sorry but he needs to go.

Me too, once he received that extension I was pissed because that was the time to move him and get something good for him. He's good for at least once turnover that leads to a goal a game. Buffalo wants to build for the Cup then get rid of this bum.

I doubt we forgot about Paul Byron. He showed up when called up and disappeared in action very quickly. I think he relaxed suddenly. When he is up again, I hope he has more energy.

Did you see that play when there was a scrum for the puck in front of the net and he was standing behind the net doing the refs job?

That's just flat out embarrassing, if he was my teammate I would scream in his face without mercy. How the efff are you going to score standing behind the net? And then naturally, the puck squirts out and he would have had an easy tap in if he only stood where he should have. I mean, even if you're worried about getting hurt, nobody can really hurt you in that situation, you might get cross checked or knocked down but that's it.

If they don't trade him or waive him I guess I could live with that, but if he is back on the team for camp next season I will freak the fuck out.

If he wants to be a regular nhler he needs to use his speed every shift. He seem's like he's a pretty smart player but at his height and weight he needs to have those feet moving as fast as they can.
