You guys are all high off your ass if you think Gerbe in a trade for Ryan isn't an upgrade...that is all.

I think he would play there as a center. He's played that position before and it wasn't bad.

Looking like it's George Parros that Darcy is after now:

Firmly believe the player were looking at, if it isn't Ryan, is Cogliano. Fast center, with good hands, and a decent defensive presence.

It is firmly believed that Darcy is in talks to trade mascots. Wild wing would make an excellent addition to this franchise. The Ducks are also throwing in a massage table as part of the deal.

Didn't we hear something about a player that was playing wing who used to play center before and wasn't bad? *cough*leino*cough*

I think he'd be great with Vanek and Pominville, too. He'd bring lots of speed to that line.

That'd also allow Hecht to get back out to wing. You could go Staff-Roy-Hecht and have two good sized wingers out there to help Roy along the walls.

Amazing how much a difference the addition of 1 guy can make to the dynamic of a lineup.

Probably is going to cost us Sekera + Prospect or Boyes + 1st to get it done though. Cogliano is on a good contract for 3 years, and makes 2.4M a year. Would be solid contract, and solid move.

I hope it'd be (if so) "the Pat Kane's case".

No way we move Goose. I think he should have donned the "C" going into the season. He is the type of player you want representing your team when things like the Miller incident come along. If he were the Captain there is no way in hell things shake down the same way. Goose basically sacrificed himself against Lucic the next game against Boston. He knew he was going to get housed, and so did the team, but he did it because he had to. It was the thing to go. Pominville is a rational mediator and Gaustad is the leader.

Who do you think was going to challenge Lucic? Gerbe? Gaustad was the toughest guy that we had that night. And honestly he didn't do shit the first game either.

The "C" is good where it is now and should stay there until/if Poms leaves.

Honestly Parros and Ryan make the only real sense to acquire. We need a scorer and Ryan could be that guy. We also need a guy who can stand up for players on a nightly basis and Parros is that guy. Cogliano doesn't make sense. We need #1 center and Cogs doesn't really fit the bill on that one. He's speedy and looks like he's doing good at LW I believe is what he's playing in Anaheim.

I can't believe we're agreeing on something. Lol

Also had another thought. Our hockey club already knows what McNabb and Kassian bring to the table.

I think they were kept up and Brennan and Tropp were sent down because those are the guys the Ducks scouts wanted to watch last night.

agreed hate the idea of either McNabb or Kassian leaving. Both games Mcnabb's been up he's layed out people like it was nothin... Kassian prolly got into the best fight in the NHL this season and the guy will be a tough PF (The type that Lucic is) pretty soon and honestly I'd rather miss the playoffs then give up talent like this.

I think you guys are reading too much into this. McNabb and Kassian stayed because they played well.

But speculating is kind of fun, so maybe Anaheim wants Vanek for Ryan.
