Mcnabb, Parker, 2014 2nd round pick, 2015 2nd round pick for Deslauriers and Fasching from the Kings.

I've never heard about these two players. I'm surprised they traded Mcnabb, he looked very promising when he was up with the Sabres.

I wouldn't have given two prospects and two 2nd round picks for two prospects...

Fasching played for Team USA in 2014 at the WJC.

To be honest, Jon Parker was completely useless and we lose absolutely nothing by giving him away. He's from California, and from what I know about him, he was a snot-nosed prick and a troublemaker who is toiling in the ECHL.

The 2nd round picks were the same picks the Kings gave us for Regier last year. We still have tons of picks. Plus, I trust Murray when it comes to his knowledge of minor-league prospects. That guy practically lives and breathes watching junior and college hockey.

I hope he does. I wish Murray could pick the players and Darcy could negotiate. Darcy got a 1st for Pominville and basically got a free 1st & 2nd from the Islanders for Vanek.

BTW, does anybody have an idea how many draft picks the Sabres have in the next 2 drafts? It's gotta be a lot.

I'm good with this deal since we've got a log jam at D anyway.

I'm a big fan of what Murray did yesterday but man...it must suck to be an Islanders fan.

Also...I'm not prepared to see Vanek in a Habs jersey...that's just wrong.

LOL

Basically, the Islanders gave up:

Moulson
A 1st
A 2nd
A (5TH?)

For a prospect and a 2nd. lol.

Meanwhile, the Sabres received a 1st and 3 2nds, essentially. I call that a win.

I found this yesterday, because I can't keep all of our picks straight either.
(note: it works for other teams and sports as well)

http://www.prosportstransactions.com/ho ... Sabres.htm

One thing to keep in mind, this page says we likely won't get the NYI 1st rounder this year, which is fine, but that pick is not also listed in 2015 like it should be.

Get all those picks next year and trade them all to whomever holds the first overall if we don't get it.

Why? Is there supposed to be a superstar in 2015?

Have you been living under a rock?

If so, yes. Connor McDavid. Look him up. He's glorious.

"He reminds me of me," Sidney Crosby said.

I can't follow north american minor hockey. I usually look up the draft list in the week of the draft.
Is he for real? Media praised Hall and Yakupov and so far they haven't impressed me like expected.

EDIT: If he really is "the next one" no team will trade that pick, no matter how many draft picks we have.

No one ever called Hall or Yakupov "the next one." He's amazing, though.

This just happened about 2 days ago. Search highlights on Youtube. He's incredible.

And if you think Hall is disappointing, you haven't been paying attention to him either. Yak, yes, but not Hall.

http://www.nhl.com/ice/player.htm?id=8475791

Hall has had two back to back ppg seasons.

McDavid was a PPG player as a 15-16 year old last year in the OHL. This year he is top ten in scoring or top 5 and he has missed 10 games unlike anyone else in the top 20. McDavid is gonna be another Crosby type player.

http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=183442

The best thing about McDavid is, he will have three full OHL season before he makes his NHL debut, and he won't be a fresh 18 year old either as his birthday is in January.

Alright, I was wrong about Hall. I haven't looked at his stats before. I just remembered the draft-hype about him and that Edmonton still sucks. I've only watched a few Edmonton games and wasn't impressed. My bad.

I'm almost certain the Sabres will suck again next year. The problem is, they need to get last in the league and still get a little lucky to get the No. 1 pick. Nobody would trade a guy like that.

Never underestimate the stupidity of the New York Islanders. If they don't give us their 1st rounder this year, then we'll get their 1st rounder next year.
