There seem to be a ton of varying opinions as to who is ready to make the jump into the NHL this season.

Gerbe seems to have been the most vocal about his determination to make the big club.

Meanwhile, many think Tim Kennedy will crack the Sabres roster, while others argue that Kassian is the most NHL ready out of any of our forwards.

Meanwhile on defense, rumors state that Mike Weber is dead set on making the Sabres out of camp this year. But Chris Butler had an incredible stay last season, and towering prospect Tyler Myers will be making a strong push.

Spacho leaving opens up the permanent spot for Butler, so it's really between Weber and Myers.

Realistically, it seems to me as there is only 2 spots up for grabs; one forward and one defenseman.

This is quite a luxury, and it's going to create some pretty heavy competition in camp.

So what do you think? Who is most likely out of the forwards, and who is most likely out of the defensemen, to crack the NHL?

I chose Kennedy and Myers. Myers I'm about 90% certain, but Kennedy has a lot of competition from not only Gerbe and Kassian, but also Tyler Ennis, who will be probably starting out in Portland this season, but has the skills to move up to the NHL quickly if he shows the same dominance in the AHL he had down in Medicine Hat.

Myers most likely...but with the way that the Sabres regulars get hurt, I'm sure we'll see Kennedy and Gerbe up in no time

no rookie (with the exception of weber) will make the team as a 13th forward or 7th defensman. they have to have a place to play, every game. having a myers or kennedy sitting in a suite will not happen. those kids need to play every game or its just wasted time. ya know what i mean? now, weber could play 7th dman because hes been bounced around alot and theres not much more he can prove in the AHL.

I voted Kassian and Myers. I know Kassian is the longest shot, it seems, but he's a RW with power forward skills that could immediately be put to use. Gerbe may have the strongest drive, and Kennedy the best-rounded skill set, but Kassian could be a veritable missing link to a grand first line or second line.

With Myers, well, you all know my opinion on him. It's definitely between Weber and Myers, with the fire and drive of Weber coming into play against the disgustingly-bright natural talent of Myers. I love Weber, the kid's a beast, but Myers shows all sorts of franchise defenseman potential and Chara-like play (incredible defense, PP prowess, flashes of forward-like brilliance). I like Myers much more. MUCH more.

myers ceiling is certainly high. very high. but if he was the 7th defensemen, that would be silly. hes 19, and he has alot of developing to do. you dont develop very fast as a 7th defensemen.

Weber has a better shot than any of the rest in my opinion. More experience.

Weber's roster spot on the Sabres is long overdue.

If Myers makes the roster this year, I'm going to be extremely irritated that we have Hank Tallinder playing over Weber, who could do a much better job.

In a perfect world, Myers and Weber would join Butler and make a fantastic three amigos on the blueline.
