Like, there were plenty of times where I gave someone 25 or 50 cents back and asked if they would like to donate and they were just stingy and said no. I mean, c'mon. It's 50 cents. Odds are it's probably going to get lost in your purse/wallet never to be seen again. If you're willing/able to spend 20+ bucks at the theater, you sure as hell should be able and willing to donate 50 cents to a good cause.

Stars of Hope!

I hated when people would scoff at me when I asked them to donate, and they would say, "I wish people would donate to ME!"

It's like, really? You just spent about $50 (ticket and concessions) to go see a fucking movie, I think you're in a better position than the kids at St. Judes, Make A Wish, etc. If you don't want to donate that's fine, but whenever people would say that it would piss me off. Don't go to Regal Cinemas where it costs an arm and a leg to see a movie and eat refreshments if you're so hard on cash, then.

People who wanna know why people keep leaving this forum...it's pretty obvious, it's like hanging out with the depressed, angry, teenaged versions of leafs fans...We love this team pre-season, then they hit a rough patch and everyone wants to blow up the roster, and sell the farm. And heaven forbid we lose a few games in November and December, omg now we can't win the cup...news flash folks, the playoffs don't start til April, put away the razor blades and draino, it'll be fine.

I dont come back here, because you post something logical and it gets ignored, but someone can suggest we trade Kaleta and a pick for Malkin and its the best idea ever, but our GM wont do it, because he's afraid...yeah I'm sure thats it, Regier is afraid to make a trade that ensures job security...maybe it's because nobody wants to trade with us right now, or gee here's a though, maybe it's because we're actually over the cap, but due to LTIR space we still can ice a team...

probably wrong thread for this, but at least the people who loyally read this thread are the more intelligent members of the board.

That's how it is with every site though. Not for the Sabres, for every team. Other Sabres sites aren't any better.

Not as bad as it is here...get a dozen or so people who know the rules and regulations of the CBA and they can chase off people who want stupid trades, complete revamps, or just the people who flat out dont understand the salary cap, and have no desire to learn. The problem is the people we used to have here, simply gave up, because it didn't matter, they were out numbered by the ignorant and belligerent

Those are two of the reasons I stay out of the 'trade ideas' forum.

1) Because I don't now shit about CBA, cap hits, etc, and I don't care to learn, and

2) Because I see the kaleta for malkin trades, recognize them as retarded because I *do* have common sense, and can't stand seeing the shit.

Kind of like someone mashing the shit out of the Eklund trade generator button

http://crazyweatherman.angelfire.com/ra ... ourgen.htm

This one is new and improved with updated names though.

Also, Jay, for your first post on this matter, if we were still in town I'd buy you a beer, dude. Very well put!

I can admit to losing my cool after some games and shitting on some players, but at the same time a person has to stand back and see there is still time left on the season. Playoffs aren’t next week. We’re still 4-5 points better than this time last year and this is with half our roster being out injured at any given time.

Oh my god, yes! People would say that all the fucking time and I would legitimately want to just say "You don't have cancer, fuck off." Anyone who can afford to go to the theater has absolutely no right to say "I wish people would donate to me!!!" It's selfish and stupid.

I hate hate HAAAAAAAAAAAATE when those who are sure to post "Merry CHRISTmas!" all over facebook don't celebrate it in any more significant way than giving unnecessary presents to their progeny. They may have a manger scene up in their homes, and they may read the story from the Bible about Jesus' birth as a prelude to opening gifts, but that's about the extent of any religious activity that takes place that day. Eh, throw going to church in for good measure, especially since this year Christmas is on a Sunday.

If they desperately want to hold to the idea that Christmas is celebrating the birth of Christ, and that the giving of gifts is a metaphor for the needed gift of salvation to all mankind, it would make more sense for them to stop lavishing gifts on their children and focusing the holiday purely on already healthy, already content family and start giving time, money, and legitimate help to the indigent actually in need. Instead of giving gifts to their children and making Christmas all about themselves and theirs, they could, I don't know, donate a chunk of change to a charity committed to providing basic food, housing, etc. to the poor; buy blankets, coats, socks, gloves, and hats and giving them personally to the homeless in their areas Christmas day (especially blankets, as those get taken from them all the time when they are evicted from wherever they have currently set up camp, and especially socks as perpetually wet socks cause serious health problems for many people in the winter); donate all of Christmas day and/or money to organizations committed to bettering the lives of children with terminal illnesses; etc. etc. Take your pick.

I don't have any problem at all with Christians' buying gifts for friends and family and celebrating Christmas by exchanging gifts and sharing meals and time with family, more or less celebrating it in a secular and/or materialistic way, but CHRISTmas people shouldn't celebrate it in that way while pretending that it's anything close to an allegory of what salvation is supposed to mean to them. Besides, the Bible doesn't exactly encourage sitting around and being thankful for a comfortable life in a food, housing, and health sense. (Being thankful for wisdom, relationships with others, etc., however, is encouraged.) It more directly says that if you have those things, you better be giving away any excess to the poor.

Drafting Ryan Getzlaf, Bobby Ryan and Rick Nash has pretty much destroyed my season this year in fantasy.

Yeah, those people really tick me off. Saying Happy Holidays isn't a big deal, they just make it a big deal.

I went downtown today with some friends and incidentally passed by what looked to be the Occupy D.C. camp... and honestly, it looked really gross. I'm not sure what I would have expected the camp to look like... but wow, it was pretty trashy looking.

My cat unexpectedly had to be put to sleep today. My other cat has been laying next to be in bed all day, because I think she can sense that I'm sad. I'm not entirely sure if she even knows that our other kitty isn't coming home. :(
