isn't it cheaper to buy a two liter of coke at 99 cents. i mean i think consumers only charges 99 cents and noco is always charging 99 cent sales.

Not sure really. Probably would have been cheaper to buy a 2 litre, but I didn't want any left over for wondering.

Yaaaaaaay new shoes! My other ones had truly massive holes in them. It was time to retire them. I spent $35 on the suckers I have now. Steel toes, steel heals I believe, and they will never fall apart at any point in time within the next five years. There's no way.

I'm not really even a girl. The only shoes I have are my token black hiking boots and the silver sparkly glittery ones I have for when I need to dress up. That's all that necessary, but everyone else is like "lulz u r not a chik."

Even with all the hype of Twilight, the movies suck donkey balls compared to the books.

Everyone who is a fan of the books hates the movies, and people who hate the books also hate the movie.

Twilight is such a poorly written series, with terrible character development. I could not make it through one book.

Anyway. Always fascinating when someone has not one esoteric interest, or when a person is a slave to pop culture (and then, by definition, a hypocrite; that angers me so, when I have stood by something or someone or someladeeda disdained by the mainstream or disdained something cherished by it, only to see the mainstream shift in time to meet what I've always known to be true; I lose much respect for those I observe change on a dime when that happens and continue to guard what I think as fiercely as I always have, so that I do not have to put up with the shallow and fake enthusiasm any more than I had to put up with remarks that imply ridiculous things about myself; friends have been lost to me before they were ever made because this phenomenon). It's just.... Nothing is genuine. They think it is, but if they could observe their past behaviors and opinions without the present's manipulating their memories, they would know it's not. Some acquaintances have been especially annoying in this regard lately...

I went to the midnight showing of New Moon with my roommate. She's somewhat of a fan; she hates the same things about the books that I do and that everyone else does, but she still likes the basic storyline, so she's read them all and saw the first movie. She has such a love-hate relationship with those books/movies... It's amusing. But, yeah, I went to see it with her mainly because I'd never been to a midnight showing before, and we had to go to a town an hour away to see it because THAT is how podunk it is in this immediate area (though they do have a movie theater; they just don't do midnight showings), aaaand I like car rides a lot. It wasn't terrible. I thought that it was a lot better than the first, mainly because the romance was so "wut?" in the first one due to the fact that they were in love with each other after five minutes, but maaaaan, the acting was still terrible. It wasn't the director. Honestly both Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson have openly admitted that they essentially hate Twilight; I think that they're bad on purpose, as a way of playing a joke on the masses... I also think Pattinson's bitter because if you look back at how it was presented to him, he did NOT sign up for this level of insanity at all. But, yeah. It still wasn't good. I'm just glad that the only record it's broken is the one for opening weekends not occurring during the summer. Hoping it stays that way, becaaauuuuse...

I am soooo pulling an all-nighter.

I have never read any of the Twilight books but I work at a movie theatre, so I'm surrounded by the madness that this movie is bringing. I had to work an 11 and half hour shift because if it! And the girl in the movie isn't a good actress at all...she's emotionless and stiff. I'm not sure if that's how the character is supposed to be in the book, but sheesh. I saw one scene where she was riding a motorcycle and flipped over the handle bars and cracked her head open and she was just like, "...ouch." Okay.

I still find it amazing that Titanic is still the highest grossing film of all time...especially considering in 1997 movie tickets were probably around 4 bucks or so, and now they range from around $10-$15, yet no film has come close to breaking its record. I <3 Titanic.

It's the Wayne Gretzky of movies.

'K, not really. But, still, I don't think that that record will be broken for a while still. Perhaps another five years... which is deeeefinitely significant considering the whole 1997 thing. I remember that when that movie came out, my parents would not let me see it because of the whole boob issue, but seriously... Boobs are boobs, and I'd certainly seen them before. I wouldn't let a child as young as I was see it, though, anyway.

I do think that there are some records in the world that will never, ever be broken, though. Titanic's not one of them purely because of inflation and changing ticket prices, but in sports and music... I cannot imagine even thinking about it, because some records are so enormously untouchable. You look at the people in second and just laugh at how pathetically far behind they are, even though what they accomplished is usually semi-monumental when not compared to the unbreakable. Even they are pretty much untouchable... and then realizing that there's someone else that was basically twice as good as far as the records go is just ridiculous.

They account for inflation in highest grossing movies of all time.

I saw a website which had every movie that was a massive blockbuster and it showed even with inflation they would have made more money than today's movies, I think the newest movie in the top ten was one of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, and that adjusted for inflation and such.
