It's not so simple, although it is. You have to be sly to figure it out. Or perhaps a little crazy. Think similes and you'll be on the right track. Find the right phrase and the confusion goes away.

some numbers to ponder while you scramble to solve.

(2)-60-(18) [21]
(18)-78-(19) [13]
(19)-154-(16) [5]
(16)-154-(19) [1]

difficult. too difficult perhaps. some maybe added in the future. then again may be not.

Gee. Thanks. I removed it from the Victim clues and added it to the Assassin clues

Who am i? i wont tell you. but i can say what ive seen.

ive seen a namesake of the third captain in person. at least that's what most think. a little nerdiness will reveal he's actually the thirteenth. the alphabet should turn a few gears in the mind.

The assassin says think similes and you'll figure it out.

Who has words in their user name that are similar to sly and crazy, as he said, you have to be sly, and you may have to be a bit crazy?

Sly is like sneaky... could it be Sneaky E?????

A namesake is essentially a nick name based on a real name.
Who was the third captain in Sabres history?

Third Captain = Jim Schoenfeld. Namesake = SchonyGal
I think we're way ahead of ourselves though. Remember to keep clues to the victim and clues to the assassin separate.

And now I have to go back and read all the stuff that's been posted since I started writing this ;)

Well Schony, if it's about the assassin, who from these boards have you met personally? I'm sure that number is high, but maybe we can narrow it down a bit.

The 13th captain was Miro Satan... and the 13th letter of the alphabet is M for Miro.

Wow... 13 and Satan. That's ridiculous.

Satan is a namesake for Satan.... who lives in Hell... and sly rhymes with fly.

Fly as hale?

The_Assassin does not wish to be caught, but (gender-neutral noun) does enjoy providing confusing clues.

The second captain served from 66-69, with stints in 79, 82, 84, 86, 89, and 91. A run cut short at first. And 89 was a disaster.

The third from 86-93, sharing a surname from that who I've seen. Stints too in 94, 96, 98, 02.

The first from 01-05. No stints. No one liked him much.

If we're going to narrow down people from UB, there's PeteyTheDancingSabre, BackThatSassUp, MotzieAK12, & DontBeThatGuy (all of whom have been to a m-n-g).

Sneaky does not go to UB nor does Fly.

Similie: A figure of speech in which two unlike things are explicitly compared, as in “she is like a rose.”

Off the top of my head, the one from my list of UB students that could fit is Petey - surname Alexander :)

Me too. I have to stop confusing assassin and victim clues.

If we're talking hockey captains, there were only 6 teams in 66' but there were 12 by 69'. Someone get me a list of all the Captains names back then

Minnesota North Stars, California Seals, Los Angeles Kings, Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penquins, St. Louis Blues, Detroit, Boston, Toronto, Montreal, Chicago, Rangers.

Surname is a last name, isn't it?

So who was from 86-93 that shares a last name with that who he's seen?

The assassin has studied the way you think, and is most concerned. You are a serious threat. So you think the captain is a hockey captain, and the sharer of the surname is not. Interesting.

Steve Y, Detroit Red Wings, Captain from 1986-2006

The only captain that was a captain in hockey from 1986 to 1993.

Assassin must be talking about a different captain; one not from hockey.

Clues pertaining to the victim:

two relatives one quick, one lazy together they will solve the code
53-33-11-83-23-31-34-23-81-81-91-33-73
It's not so simple, although it is. You have to be sly to figure it out. Or perhaps a little crazy. Think similes and you'll be on the right track. Find the right phrase and the confusion goes away.

Also, must be somebody from/at UB:

PeteyTheDancingSabre, BackThatSassUp, MotzieAK12, & DontBeThatGuy Sabres2Sabres, Jvaccaro

EDIT: Thanks Crim.

Is there any significance to the number 211?

You might be on to something, but I think relative is the simile - two things opposite each other.

One is quick, One is lazy

MotzieAK12? 13th alphabet = M
Motzie = UB (quick)
AK = Kotalik (lazy)

?? I don't even know whom I'm profiling any longer. Maybe I should drink :D
