Four blog posts in one day, accepted a pro bono gig doing Sabres stories with a Buffalo sports site, and am having a full-on geekgasm thanks to AICN and Topless Robot. What a day.

Took my youngest brother to the park and ran into my aunt, uncle, and three cousins. The eight-year-old is a clone of his eighteen-year-old brother (who was my buddy when I was a kid), and the thirteen-year-old has my voice... or something. She sounds just like me. I already resemble that set of cousins more than my brothers. What gives.

I forget how small this town is until things like that happen.

Caro, did you get that bussing job?

Well...I talked to the owner of Encore and he said that he didn't really have many hours to give me because summer is their slowest season. So he called his friend who owns/manages (I'm not sure if he's the owner actually) a restaurant on the lake (on the small boat harbor, if you know where that is) called Dug's Dive. It's a pretty popular place in the summer... but I'll be working in the ice cream stand and hostessing. He also said on slow nights he'll get me waiting tables since I told him that I'd eventually like to become a server.

I think I end up at that restaurant about once a week during the summer...by boat that is...and usually it's for ice cream.

Ken Griffey Jr. retired today :( He's not only always been my favorite baseball player, but my favorite athlete. I'm so freaking sad right now.

I know the expression is "Discretion is the better part of valor", but it often seems to me like "Discretion is the bitter part of valor" is more appropriate.

So my final for my European history class is presenting a clip from a film then explaining how it relates to European history/studies. I picked the "royale with cheese" scene from Pulp Fiction and I'm going to talk about how it demonstrates the economic and cultural impact Europe and America have on one another.

And now I've just finished up what's likely my last high school assignment. It's kinda surreal that I've been in that building almost every day for ten months each year for four years and after next Friday I'll possibly never enter that building again

I remember my last day of Masters (just a couple weeks ago)
I remember my last day of classes (just a couple weeks ago)
I will remember my last day of PhD (when that comes)

Apparently the liberating feelings are just too damn good to let go :P
