I had to wake up at 6:30 this morning for work... I can't remember the last time I woke up that early (aside from random flights here and there). It was really hard and I'm still exhausted. And that's the time I'm going to have to wake up next semester for class. Good god.

I was just asked by our mail admin to track down a server sending to a no longer active email address. Inside the application in question, the offending email address was commented out in every config, so it shouldn't have been used.

After asking the mail admin when he last saw one of these messages, his response :

March.

hehehe....really on the ball there?

Don't feel bad, I just found in excess of 2Gb of email stuck in one of my sendmail queues...I haven't even logged into this server for over a year :D

The only way I noticed was physically walking past the server I noticed the disk activity lights churning away which I thought was odd for a simple email server.

This guy knows his email, but that's only because he goes out of his way to do NOTHING else but that. Any time his department gets a request, he ignores it unless it's email related, or so super simple that it takes no time at all to do. Then he huffs and puffs about how awesome he is because he did it.

He's also the master of being the Dwight Schrute of the department. He's constantly asking other people if they could look at something, or if they've done something yet, even though he's not the boss of anybody. (It's usually when something comes in he doesn't want to do.)

LMAO! Dude, I swear every place of work has one of these types of jerk-offs. There is a guy at my place of work just like this. He has absolutely nothing to do with my department but will drop in from time to time, even though he knows he has no jurisdiction over us and demand reports that he can run himself. He has the same systems as us, but because he is higher in the food chain in another department, he thinks he can snap his fingers and we'll jump.

Recently, he became extremely upset when we had enough and told him to go pound sand. Our negative words and refusal to be his personal assistants made him that angry that he launched a formal complaint against our desk for noncompliance, with the HR dept. HR, then was in touch with us about the matter as they always need to take work situations seriously, should there be a conflict. I, in return sent our HR director something for him…

THE FORM!!

Image

She laughed her ass off because she knows what kind of a sniveling little prickarse he is and told him she'd take his comments seriously and would follow up with a reprimand, should the situation garner it (Sarcasm which he bought right into). All while trying to not bust a gut right in front of him.

To the best of my knowledge, the investigation is on going and HR is still laughing over the matter. :D

apparently when it rains in LA for a week, it allows one to observe what a large percentage of the female population actually own stripper boots.

I see no negative in this...I like rain (not in golf season), I like wet women, I like strippers, I like boots...nope no negatives

So, I had scheduled to meet with this lady, so I could be introduced to her kids and babysit them on Sunday. I got up, showered, came downstairs to check my email... and she canceled. And now there's no way I can get back to sleep. FML. At least I'm still babysitting Sunday. But blahhh. I need more sleep.

I'm definitely living somewhere without real winter. This whole Raynaud's+chilblains thing on my toes year after year gets old.

Anyway, off to register my vehicle. :D

I gotta get a tripod so I can start getting into urbex. Basically the only place I've ever explored is a complex of abandoned multilevel warehouses right by my school. It's pretty cool, but I haven't taken pictures there... Might as well take advantage of the fact that I go to school a tad less than two and a half hours from Chicago, which has a lot of locations, and by extension less than two hours from Gary, which also has a lot. Staying in the area over the summer, so there will be lots of free time to at least start some minor stuff then. I've been looking at pictures and reading about how to go about it online for years now, and over the summer I'll be living with a friend that's also interested.

Last night possibly ever in WNY. Weird. I don't want to sleep but I have to drive five hours. Meeeeehhhhh.

Be weird living in my grandparents' house. I haven't been there since before my grandmother died, and I already still expected to see my grandfather who's been dead for five and a half years (actually almost exactly; he died in June) sitting on the couch every time I walked into the living room. He used to sing a little song composed of only my name every time he saw me. I always expect to hear that, too. I don't think I'll ever view that house as belonging to my parents.
