Well, thank you, but I’m no assassin. I don’t think I’ve ever said Mwhahahahaha! And as poorly as we played Saturday, I certainly wasn’t “homicidal” about the 8-2-1 record we had after that game.
I agree with you that some of the details of the rules leave a bit to be desired, but trying to solve the clues is fun.
I think you might be underestimating Mike (The Chimp). I think he meets way more than 3 of the attributes you listed.

If we as a collective group is trying to solve this, then I want to arrest everyone who knows what the clue is until they give us information about it, because WE as a collective group is trying to solve this assassin, so we all need to work together, not try to get money out of anyone or who secrets.

You really think we would care that much to give you money for a stupid clue?

Who should I protect?

Remember the sarcasm meter doesn't work with text very well.

But if they know the clue just post it and share and not hold it back.

I started to put all the numbers into a spreadsheet, but I didn't get very far, or put much thought to it.

Two things.
One is to get two people to accuse the assassin using the template. If the guess is correct then the "game" transfers to the next person and IMO, the game would come to a screeching halt.

Two, we need to figure out that stupid numeric code so we can each protect one person whom we think the clue is directed at so we can have some fun first.

I take back everything I said about the game being made up and not thought through very well :doh: Start reading guys and gals. Let's see what we find in here;

Actually the game doesn't come to a screeching halt when we find out the first assassin. Whoever is the person to guess correctly does not become the assassin, that person is then required to pick a new assassin to replace the other person.

So it just keeps on continuing until it gets really boring basically.

Woah...that's a Science Olympiad website!

I did Science Olympiad for all four years of high school. There was never anything like this in it though!

I know there was at least one other former Science Olympiad competitor that frequented the site - I exchanged a few PM's with them a year or so ago back on the old board. Except I don't remember who it was, and there's no way to access PM's from the Invision board days.

There were a couple. One was myself. I don't remember who the other was, but there was a thread on it somewhere.

It's taking me forever to go through 53 pages :(
Plus, this game is probably found on more websites. It only took be about 10 minutes of googling the right combo of words to find it. The assassins first clue over there was a color chart on pg three ( I think). I'm up to gage 7.

I'm trying to pay close attention the the user names over there as well. Only thing that sticks out is someone with a Red Wings avatar :think:

Is the thread in the old lounge? Can you recall the title of the thread or any part of it?

I think it had something to do with hgih school, but I don't remember, no.

I think one of the best bets is to take the text of the assassin's posts and see if there are any tendencies, wording, punctuation that jumps out at you. Someone may tend to word things a certain way, use hyphens in certain areas, etc.

Already did that and it points to one person :-)

But, I don't want to guess who the assassin is, I want to solve the freakin' puzzle and protect someone :lol: We are totally missing something here :doh:

Well it's tedious, yet easy, which points me to data manipulation.

288 numbers, two colums of 144

You're way ahead of me however, if your assumption is correct, check this out;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/144_%28number%29

144 is the emergency number (police) in Austria.
Should that be it, we need to protect the Austrians ;)

Yeah, but we have more than two Austrians. That's not really all that tedious to figure out either.

when we get enough clues to adequately accuse and someone accuses correctly.
