The business office at my school is entirely incompetent. If I'd known what dealing with them every year would be, I would've gone elsewhere. OH WELL. my last year...

I think I did that while watching a movie one night. And the Library Skills thingy took me about 10 minutes too. Online things like that are generally pointless.

Speaking of which, I hear that the NYS insurance reduction course can now be done online. I need to look into that...as I really don't want to sit for another 6 hour class (and probably won't, even though 10% off my insurance is worth it).

yeah, i am

the library skills thing took me about 10 minutes too.
Though, it isnt showing up on my HUB as being done

HUB needs to die. Never had a problem registering for classes before it, this semester I had to manually register for 3 of my 5 classes because it said I didn't complete the prereqs (I did).

THE HUB, on the other hand, is awesome.

i was in my room today, heard a funny sound, and sure enough, electrical fire. if i wasnt in the room when it happened, it could have been really bad. as it is, nothing really damaged outside what caught fire.

Old way was very simplistic but it worked. Never had issues, it was very straightforward.

You would go to the course catalog online, and find the classes you want. You'd manually pick the sections you wanted, and write down the registration numbers. Then when your window opened, you'd just go to the registration page and enter in the course numbers, and you were registered.

They've tried to streamline it now so that you don't have separate listing and registration pages - but it doesn't work well at all.

I hate the system for searching classes. It's really inefficient and it's a lot more difficult to look for classes. Like, I liked being able to click on different sections and just looking through what was open. Now you have to type in a certain section, look, then go back and search something else, blah blah blah. It's stupid. I'm definitely not a fan of the new system.

This is a nice area to live in purely because it's full of lakes, but there are so many faux gangsta 12-year-olds that hang out at various McDonald's locations... then the twentysomethings that grew up in Gary and can't give it up... siiiiiiigh.

I love how Amnesty International actually believes that international law is enforceable. They warned the Canadian government that by deporting persons suspected of war crimes to their homelands where they could face torture or capital punishment, the government is in violation of international law. The government's response: "Okay, and we care about this international law ... why?" It also said the government had violated these people's privacy rights by posting a list online of the suspects wanted for war crimes. Again the government said "Who gives a fuck about the privacy rights of war criminals? We're here to protect the public, first and foremost. We'll gladly sacrifice these criminals to a horrible fate in order to make our country safer." To that I say: It's about damn time.

Amnesty International says the government should not deport them because their lives are at risk, and instead, they should stand trial here in Canada. To that I say: Why? They aren't our citizens. They aren't our problem. If you come here and you're a criminal, or you come here and commit a crime, then expect a swift kick in the ass out the door. Why should we protect you? You contribute worse than nothing to our society - you're detrimental. We don't want other countries' criminals. We've got enough of our own thanks. Now GTFO.

I find it regrettable that anyone should have to undergo torture or capital punishment, but protecting innocent civilians is more important than upholding the rights of people who have committed heinous crimes, period. I don't like Stephen Harper, but good on him for actually having the balls (unlike his predecessors) to cleanse the country of unwanted trouble. The government has no obligation to appease Amnesty International, nor does it have an obligation to adhere to international laws.

For once, the government has finally got it right. Protect the public first and foremost, even if that means compromising the well-being of non-law abiders.

In an anti-texting&driving commercial, the guy is driving and texts "I got the pizzas". Then he crashes. All I could think of was "yeah... you don't have the pizzas..."

I am on my brand new 13.3 inch MacBook Pro with i7 processor, 500gb of harddrive space and 4gb of DDR3 ram. This thing blows away a Compaq with a piece of shit processor, 60gb of hdd space, 1 gb of ram and a cracked version of Windows 7.

I fucknig hate this city, such a waste land at least the part I'm in. After years of shitty and out of control neighbors, more specifically the house directly across from my street, my street finally looks like its getting better. There are a lot of kids running around and a generally mellow scene besides a semi loud revving car from time to time at night but compared to other experiences on this street it is music.

A little recap of how shitty the people across the street were is hard but there was a time when their house was raided and multiple automatic weapons were confiscated among other things as well as one arrest. The other residents of the house went berserk and threatened to shoot up the entire neighborhood to find out who the called the cops but they were hollow threats as we took them. What brought the guns to our attention is when they hold them on top of their roof and wave them around as well as "accidentally" firing a shot that was a good 2 feet away from an infants play pen. These people didnt leave the house in a police car but by our only saving grace EVERY year, the winter. Besides hockey season the best part of winter is that all the thugs and ass holes all go into hibernating to its a good 8-9 months of peace at least somewhat anyway.

Now after 2 houses being burned to the ground this summer, adding to the countless others from previous years, I had my hopes up that the street was actually looking better. There was a good family living across the street finally and the other people were not very disruptive to your average neighbor. But around a month ago another house across the street from me was rented out by a sleezy fucker land lord who gave the keys to the scum bags responsible for tonight's shit. At first they just had large gathering that led into the night very late blasting music but even that is livable, for me at least. But tonight was just icing on the cake. My family and I were having a little family gathering in the back yard around a fire and there was a HUGE party going on across the street and they were swarming the street. They were leaning and sitting on all the cars nearby including mine and my neighbor moved my sisters car away from them because it is a fairly nice car so she moved it a little farther down the street. As the night progressed to 1:30am there was a loud smash and everyone out side simultaneously yelling "Ooohhh shitt!". We went inside and to the windows to see that someone drunkenly ran into another car and sped away, as we got closer we see that it was my sisters car which I found ironic since we moved it away from danger only for it to be smashed. It scrapped the side up real good, destroyed the skirt and ripped off the mirror.

The real kicker is that when we called the police they said that they were too busy with other stabbings and shootings that they didnt have time to worry about a car accident. I didnt even realize until then how fucked up this city was. Maybe it was just a bad night but when cops cant make it to the scene of a crime because of too many shootings and stabbings, thats a fucking joke. Around 45 minutes later the cops came after we called some 311 number or something and they basically told us that there was nothing that could be done and AS THEY WERE THERE these 3 ugly chicks break the back window of a car in the street around the corner (Its like a big alley) but before we could signal the police they were gone and when we told them and they heard the crash they did nothing. Since the car was not registered they couldnt do anything.

Now all of that i could take it and whatever but when we asked the cop what we are expected to do, he said move. Are you fucking kidding me, the fact that the police are recommending that I move away from my home for all my life because of stupid shit like this is ridiculous. When asked if they are going to break up the MASSIVE party that caused all this they said that they would advise them to leave. I can advise them all I want to leave but it wont do shit.

Now Im not expecting them to go find out who drunkenly smashed my sisters car but at least make an effort to get the people who smashed the cars window for no reason when we tell them they are right fucking there. If not that at least make an attempt, an attempt, to break up the still loud as hell party at 2am with 40 people wandering around the street doing nothing good. Dont care if anyone reads, just needed to rant -.-
