Hey gang, So with the Mrs. working some 3 hours away, she brought our older xbox 360 with her so we could chat/game & what not. Well, everything was working fine until xbox notified her she needed to download this update last night. After the update, she could go online, could send me messages but in terms of gaming or chatting/joining a party, it was a no go. I checked my settings on this side and it said my NAT settings were moderate, which is good to go. But after I gave her a call, and ran her through the same network test, it said hers were really high (Severe) and she wouldn't be able to game or join a party or chat unless they were adjusted. Now, I'm pretty knowledgeable when it comes to tech stuff, but as for networking, I'm better off trying to learn french. Anyone know if this is something she can adjust on her side, or would she need to get in touch with the ISP to adjust the settings? She doesn't want to just call the company as obviously its not her house & what not, so I'm wondering if anyone has some tips on how to resolve this another way. Any ideas? |

Port forwarding. Look it up online and you should be able to solve it that way. Or she can just try it, My PS3 has a NAT 3 I think but I can game and chat just fine. Parties are a bitch sometimes though. |

Easier than port forwarding, put the xbox in the dmz. The router should have a setting for it, you have to find the IP address of the xbox and then you're good to go. |

Sweet, I've tried port forwarding on my PS3 and nothing has worked, I'll try DMZ tomorrow, or later today. I just want to be a host for once, haha. So glad we got techies on here too. |
