Are you surprised? Fox is a business that is successful because it panders to a very specific group of people. Of course they're going to pull something like that.

The real crime isn't that fox does this, it's that there are still people out there that trust any corporation to report the news without any agenda.

i dont watch fox news. ever. any station that gives bill o'reilly the airtime to spew his nonsense to millions over the air doesnt exactly get my respect.

i wish we had BBC over here. it would be nice to see the opinions from a third party.

I lost all respect for Fox news when they criticized Obama for not taking disciplinary action against a couple of rappers who were freestyling racist things in a night club shortly after his election.

How is that something he's supposed to deal with?

Fox is way beyond conservative journalism. They're over the top.

It's spot on.

The right wing, combative and controversial part of Fox news is only 1 element...that's them playing to the talk radio faction and it's quite effective.

They also have actual journalists and do top notch journalism like Brit Hume, Bret Baier, and Shepard Smith.

If you dismiss the entire network as right wing opinion and propaganda, you're just wrong.

Sadly, MSNBC is just a weird left wing characature of what they *think* Fox News is because I'm sure actually watching it would make their heads explode.

I have a similar opinion as Zilla. If BillO or Glenn Back or Michelle Malkin want to pontificate and complain about the administration on opinion shows, then so be it. I have no problem with that. I may not agree with the content , but it's their opinion. News organizations have been doing opinion pieces as long as there have been news organizations.

My problem is when the lines blur. Fox tries to say there is a line between the opinion shows and their news programs, but it's increasingly harder to see. More and more Fox anchors provide more and more opinion during those times of day where Fox themselves has said they have news programming on.

They're not all bad. I do like Shep Smith. He tends to be pretty middle of the road and just tells you what happened, rarely injects his personal opinion. I just with more of the news folks would take his approach.

I don't think that 'woop de do, they all do it' is the right attitude to take. News organizations should serve the people, not the politics.

Those who the network choose to show are those speaking for the network.

It doesn't say much about the people in charge, to say the very least.

You do realize that NBC is MSNBC, right? That means you believe Olbermann, Maddow and Jerry Springer speak for NBC, and The View cast speaks for ABC, and that David Letterman and Andy Rooney speak for CBS.

It's OK to not want to watch programming from points of view you don't agree with, but you shouldn't make sweeping judgments out of anger.

I'll still submit that ratings doesn't mean you're doing a good job. American Idol gets ratings. Jersey Shore gets ratings.

It only means that Fox caters their content to what their viewers WANT to see. In the business of entertainment, that's good. In the business of journalistic integrity, not so much.

Now THIS is spot on! I can't believe that anyone would expect me to sift through Fox's right-wing agenda so I could enjoy their excellent journalistic quality. That is just laughable.

exactly! just opposite sides of the spectrum of political opinion. but keith olbermann does know his sports! i dont necessarily find o'reillys political agenda that offensive. yes, its a 180 from mine, but thats ok. people can disagree. i find hes just an asshole who doesnt let anyone disagree with him (basically, the same person as me!)

his rivalry with the great al frankin is hilarious though.
