I don't respect that they're throwing bricks through windows, spewing racial slurs, and posting the addresses of family members online and encouraging people to go "express their thanks" for someone's vote. That just happened to Rep. Tom Perriello's brother.

Ouch. Now that's going just a wee bit too far.

Well, I don't disagree with you. The same thing happened to a lesser extent (and not covered at all by the mainstream media I might add) when Cheney.......errr......Bush ( ) decided to invade Iraq.
I'll never forget the gentleman from Maryland, when I came home after over a year over there, the very first thing I caught on the news was at Dulles Int'l. He was spewing hate towards the Repubs, calling them liars and evil and he'll get em.
Both sides have emotions run high and whether these decisions are right or wrong, I do agree violence is not the answer, civil discourse has its place but in a peaceful fashion. I often wonder if Dr. King was truly heard by the masses.

Congresswoman Louise Slaughter's offices in Rochester and Niagara Falls both had bricks thrown through them before the health care vote.

The incident at Rep. Perriello's brother's house happened because someone on the Tea Party website posted the wrong address. They THOUGHT it was Rep. Perriello's home, when it was his brothers.

These violent outbursts are domestic terrorism, plain and simple.

I think it's sad that you had to hear that shit Ty. I didn't support Cheney's war, but I sure as hell never said a word about it in front of my friends of anyone in the military.

You guys were given a job to do, you went and did it, regardless of the reasons why. You shouldn't have to hear us civilian fucks talking about if you were there for the right reasons or not.

You'll get further with a well articulated argument than an angry one.

That's why the exec. editor of the Missourian personally returned my e-mail, and the stupid people posting angrily had their comments deleted.

Well, I agree, and on that note, a little story of Ann Colter in Canada was pretty funny though.
I know, I know, any threat is serious, but I did get a kick out of what happened in Ottawa yesterday to her.

It's vandalism, not terrorism.

Is it a hate crime too?

Yes?

hate crime

Rocks through a window is vandalism.

Cutting a gas line takes it up a notch.

I wouldn't go hate crime on this, but let's be honest with ourselves. This is an extremist group convincing it's members to commit acts of violence in retaliation towards a group they don't like.

You could apply that same sentence to a lot of groups around the world that we routinely call terrorists.

I wouldn't either, but I'm curious as to where the line is drawn between protected social groups. Which are and which aren't?

That question is the perfect example of why "hate crimes" are bullshit.

It's either a crime or it's not...the motivation doesn't matter.

What's worse....Bricks through campaign office windows of Democrats because they voted for the bill or bullets through campaign office windows of Republicans because they didn't?

I always thought this too. I also, remember finding this cartoon humorous, and although not completely related to the discussion, seems to convey our point fairly accurately.

They just don't want anyone "below" them collecting anything. This is fucking awesome. I hate the tea partiers(so hard not to say it).
