Relentless? sure. I don't find it comical that public schools teach creationism or that priests fuck little boys and get away with it. But yeah, if you say it's comical to be upset by that then I have to agree with you.

Let's see some stats to back that up. And I'll bet the offending teachers weren't moved out of district so as to keep their transgressions secret for a number of years.

The issue is that when sexual abuse charges come up in public schools, the person responsible is persecuted to the fullest extent of the law. When it happens in the church, it's often just swept under the rug.

Well if it was a Baptist church you're thinking of a much different religion. They bang the bible over your head until you submit or die.

The Church followed what was prescribed by psychologists of the time, which was found to be incorrect. The Holy Father recognizes this, and in his Letter to the Catholics of Ireland, he knows that the people within the church acted in error, and he urges the Bishops to correct the wrongs that were done, to prevent this happening in the future.

I went to a Lutheran church for 5 years, school for 1, and a Baptist church for 6.

Both religions tell you that you're supposed to love your fellow man or woman, and preach forgiveness. I think that's a pretty common concept amongst everything Christian.

I remember reading about that in AP World last year... gruesome stuff that.

I'm not here to give you an education in what has been going on in the battle between scientists, law makers, educators and intelligent design peddlers. That argument has been long and tiresome and I'm not going to sit here and write a report because you claim it isn't an issue.

I will say though that most here aside from you that have read what I have posted know that first off I don't fancy ANY organized religion and secondly I believe all people should be afforded the freedom to believe whatever the hell they want to as long as they don't force those beliefs on other people. I happen to use Christianity as an example more frequently than others because I wasn't born in India, China, ancient Greece or in some African tribe where other faiths are dominant. "Attacking" religion is pretty strong. Was it when I asked the Christian members advice on blending my divided faith family that was considered attacking (because I was the one that was attacked then)? Was it when I asked everyone's opinion on the tax status for religious organizations? Maybe it was when I said the church which fired that doctor over the approved abortion was fucking retarded? Or maybe a guy who attacks anything left of center like a blood thirsty pitt bull should look in the mirror before he tells someone that their constant anything is comical.

Hell, maybe I should just stop mustering up the two shits it takes to care about your keyboard flexing?

Squanto, I was just being a smart ass (again), but Baptists are without a doubt more uptight than others. I was actually brought up in a Lutheran school and church, until I got excommunicated anyway (because I just stopped going).

Baptists though...no alcohol?!? Stop right there, I'm going to hell!
