That's not a major government program.
If you want to use that standard though, the war on drugs has also failed and has not been repealed.

No, it's not.
Social security, Medicare, FDIC and the SEC are major programs.
The Department of Education is major program.

Prohibition just made the sale of alcohol illegal. It created NO associated bureaucracy.

A law prohibiting a substance is NOT a government program. It's just a law.

You don't know me very well.

So it goes like this:
point
counterpoint
counterpoint
name calling

got it.

You still haven't named a major, failed government program that was canceled.
(hint: there actually are a few, you're just not trying)

Witty. Maybe you should think of it another way. Not one person on here who has presented a valid, well thought rebuttal to something you have said has been met with anything but a counterpoint from you....except those you just ignore. You are right and if you're not right you have a smoke bomb in your pocket just in case to make your getaway to the next pitch fork rally.

As for saying prohibition I was being a smart ass...then Mr. Caped Conservative comes swooping in to be a dick. Go have a Glenn Beck sandwich and wash it down with a Hannity soda.

Right. Generally, that's how debate works.

I find it amusing you think I get my opinions from Fox news.

You can go have a John Stewart sandwich and wash it down with a Olberman soda.
Surely they are the righteous purveyors of truth.

Nope, sorry. Don't watch MSNBC and Jon Stewart at least admits he's a comedian.

That being said, some of your posts originated from "news" that was only "big" and "shocking" on Fox. Such as children singing in their class.....only a "major" story on Fox.....7 months after it happened. May give one the impression that you browse their network occasionally. Just sayin'.

Yeah, Fox is the only outlet that runs those stories.

etc.
etc.
etc.

Um...there is a difference just so ya know between "major", "shocking" or making it your main story and other agencies simply doing a piece on it. I didn't say that it wasn't covered by anyone else did I? Nope. I was talking about how Fox was responsible for making it that huge "Indoctrination" scandal that they claimed it to be...hence "big" and "shocking"...but whatevs. Keep using the forum as your soapbox cause you da man!! I'm out.

You obviously don't look at drudgereport on a daily basis.
He does, indeed make those things major headlines...as does NRO.

There's a difference between real news agencies and Fox. When I read something from the Drudge for example I typically don't find the sensationalism you find at Fox...because one is news (for the most part) and one is strictly entertainment and masturbation for right wingers

The children singing to Obama story broke on Drudgereport.

Drudge is just as right wing as any other right wing outlet. Check out his links...most of them are Brietbart, WSJ, NRO etc. etc.

Stewart did a good segment last night about the cable media 'echo chamber'. He used examples from Fox, but the same thing happens on CNN and MSNBC, although in my opinion it's not as pronounced. They all do this, Fox just seems to do it louder.

1. Minor news item is mentioned by news anchor.
2. Opinion show host talks about the item, and provides their opinion, probably slanted to fir the ideology of the network.
3. Next news cycle, news anchor now talks about this 'hot story' is 'developing', and the opinion points start getting repeated.
4. Opinion show hosts continue to talk about the item, which is now 'more of a news story' since the news anchors are talking about it.

Interesting you mention this. It was the focus of Stewart's piece on the echo chamber. Drudge was 7 months late on 'breaking' that one. :)

This is why politics is a subforum.

Notice, the "soap box" is for everyone.
Don't like it, don't post.
