I honestly can't believe how angry people are getting over this.

To sum it up, the cover of Vanity Fair magazine has 4 white chicks on it, and now people are saying that it lacks diversity.

1) Who gives a shit?
2) Ebony magazine doesn't ever have white girls on the cover, so why cry foul now?

The discrimination shit is perpetuated by people that can't just fucking let go, and realize that any perceived discrimination is because they haven't done the work to set themselves up for success. Period.

I think it would reveal proper diversity if at least one of them were topless.

Diversity for the sake of diversity is just another manifestation of white guilt.

It's not "whites" crying foul

Let's put this into perspective.

One person is upset over this.

This is an article by Joanna Douglas, who writes for Shine, a Yahoo! web portal. "People" aren't getting angry about this - one writer wrote one story for a minor web site commenting on a magazine cover.

Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion and you've heard hers. Get angry, don't get angry, but it isn't a movement or groundswell - it is just one writer's opinion.

I'm confused. The author of that article was white, seemed like she was the one doing the complaining. Or am I missing something?

Because all "minority" groups "deserve" more rights, then us "white" people...

Completely ridiculous i know... We are talking about this in my soc101 class in college. How minority groups will march on washington demanding "rights" but they want MORE rights than what we "white" people have... and if you say they dont DERSERVE MORE rights they scream racist and sexist and a bunch of other shit, when really your just being fair, they want rights they should have Equal rights not more rights... idk its so stupid, they are prolly just bitching about the magazine just cuz it is all white chicks.

This is a recurring theme though, and I guess that's where I'm getting upset.

I guess my outrage isn't over the article, but the practice itself, of continuing to bring up discrimination. And I think the author's pissed because it's a cover of garbage actresses :/

Imagine if we still had Kotalik and Kalinin, add Kennedy and Grier and there'd be one interesting lineup on the ice.

Wow! Over generalize much? "Minorities" make demands. "They" want this. "They" scream that. "They" are bitiching.

Two kinds of people, eh? "Us" white people and "those" minorities.

prej-u-dice [prej-uh-dis]: preconceived judgments, feelings, opinions, or attitudes, esp. of a hostile nature, regarding a racial, religious, or national group.

I would give you an example, but you already provided one.

Its is amazing to me that you find fault with me with every post I say. Just astounds me... serious stop personal attacks.. we talked about this in soc101 class. ok. Charleston Heaston even made a speech about he marched on washington for the rights of minorities. and how they called him racist and sexist and all assortments of things because he said EQUAL RIGHTS not more rights... im not prejudice in any way shape or form. I never said I hated any groups your putting things in my mouth. Sure I generalized but what difference does it make. You generalize too by calling me prejudice, IM NOT. I was speaking on the mindset of how Charleston Heaston saw it.

My point being, they are bitching because its all white and no other type of diversity. I dont care, it was My two cents. Take it or leave it, I dont care. Just cuz you interepret my post as Prejudice doesnt mean I AM... so maybe you should stop making assumptions.

Zilla did not 'personally attack' you. He commented on your post with some rebuttal.

Relax.

I make no assumptions. Go back and read your post. Who are "they?" Anyone who isn't white? "They" all have the same opinion? "They" all march on Washington demanding rights? "They" want more rights than white people?

The person who wrote the article is WHITE. Yet, you used it to launch an attack on anyone who isn't white.

How do you define prejudice?

Zilla, do me a favor...instead of attacking Rut, which seems to be your claim to fame as of your last 2-3 posts, prove him wrong and stay on topic? You're antagonizing, and are trying to wordsmith your way out of being called out.

Fair enough, my bad, i'm just a little heated as of late... my bad.

I am sorry Zilla.... but I am in no way prejudice... I am merely stating that some Minority groups cry bloody murder when they dont get their way, and I know not everyone in every minority does that. But a lot do... I am sorry, I should have worded my post better.

"they" as in minority groups in general... im not trying to use it to be derogatory.

I define prejudice the same way you do. But my post may have sounded like I am but im not... Im all for their rights... im just sick of people complaining when they dont get it their way right away.

I thought he defined his "they" fairly well as minority groups. Groups not generalizing as different ethnicities, but groups devoted to representing the interests of those ethnicities.
