Carl P. Paladino declared to a huge crowd in Ellicott Square and to all of New York Monday night that he's "mad as hell and not going to take it anymore" as he officially kicked off his campaign for governor.

The mudslinging started early.

I sorta like Paladino. I'm interested in hearing what he wants to do in specifics, not just in general terms.

I have no idea who this guy is but I'd just like to add a comment...

Whatever happened to the great men that used to occupy that office and use it as a stepping stone towards the Presidency?
Petaki? Spitzer? Patterson?

Even Cuomo? You've got to be kidding me.
NY produced both Roosevelts, Grover Cleveland, Martin Van Buren...hell, even William Seward.

I'm sad to say I believe NY is even more screwed up than California and I don't miss NY politics at all.

Paladino is a real estate developer in Buffalo. Has been critical of state government for years. Also spearheaded the drive to get the tolls on the Niagara Thruway removed a couple years back.

Nice!
Should sick him on the Grand Island bridge tolls. Those were supposed to be removed after they paid for the bridges and that happened in what? 1979?

They could use a model similar to Ohio's turnpike - the road is paid for almost exclusively through tolls. That means all maintenance, all employees, upkeep, and expansions. I'm okay with paying a toll that's used for those purposes.
