olbermann is off MSNBC. many speculate its because of the NBC/comcast merger. apparently, some speculate that 30 rock will be canceled as well because of the merger after they took shots at comcast as well. http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2011/01/21/ke ... 1&iref=BN1 thats about olbermann. |

30 Rock better not get cancelled. Would they even be allowed to do that? The Simpsons make fun of Fox all the time on their show. |

While I may at the moment revel in Olbermann's temporary demise, my euphoria is tempered by the expectation that he rises again from the ashes and raises his extremist flag at a yet to be determined cable network that allows him even more freedom to express his maniac vitriol. But no matter, he's another blowhard that very few people actually take seriously. |

Guys...it's not a conspiracy, it's business. Olbermann sucks, is controversial, and is eating up the most lucrative time slot. He's a liability. Now, if he were actually successful with his controversial tone (a la Beck) you can bet he wouldn't be going anywhere.

He was loud in his opinions, occasionally taking them into blowhard land. But extremist he was not. |

This is of course predicated on the assumption that his replacement will put up better ratings. Nobody is going to catch O'Really, so MSNBC better hope that O'Donnell can keep them in 2nd. |

When the gap between Nancy effing Grace and Bill O'Reilly is so vast that assumption isn't a difficult one to reach. |

I see that done once in this thread. But really, Olbermann is just another in a long line of failure of the left trying to take on the right at their own game. It's his fault for playing a game he can't win...the folks at Air America could have clued him into that. |

And I don't even see what was so bad with Pat Green's comment. So what if he compared Olbermann to Limbaugh? They're both jerks, few people take them seriously, so does it really matter which one is more of a jerk??? Either way we're better off to hear less of these pot-stirrers. |

Thought about making this it's own thread, but maybe it's better off here since it fits into the vein of "political commentators being idiots." How fucking weird is it that conservative commentators cannot talk about Obama without mentioning his middle name? There's no Sarah Louise Palin or Willard Mitt Romney... I'm trying to figure out if it's hilarious that they can be petty and passive aggressive enough to try and imply negative attributes based on his name alone, or sad that it works on far too many people. |
