Senile idiot Jerry Brown and his thugs in sacramento had a great idea to raise a measly $200-300 million more in tax revenue by taxing internet sales. (Let's ignore that California, like the US itself, doesn't have a tax problem, it has a spending problem. And for perspective, California's budget deficit is in the $11 BILLION range).

So they passed this new tax:

...and the very next day, the main target of the tax, Amazon.com announced it's ending affiliations with 25,000 California based websites.

And people wonder why population and businesses are fleeing states like California and NY.
Unbelievably predictable, yet somehow they don't see it coming.

And this is why tax increases never net the revenue they are predicted to generate. And why tax cuts never see the drop in revenue that is predicted.
