Lindy Ruff says Kaleta is ready to go, but is holding him out tonight to make sure he's 110% for Friday's game against the Leafs.

He got hurt....I think in his second shift he took a puck or a knee or some shot to the leg

He took a shot off the left foot.

My guess is that best case, it's a bad bruise (could miss a game or two).

Worst case is a broken foot....

Patrick Kaleta, who suffered a bruised foot Monday in Pittsburgh, will miss at least Wednesday's game against Ottawa and likely more.

"It looks like he’s going to miss some time," Sabres coach Lindy Ruff said after today's Kaleta-less practice in HSBC Arena. "Nothing showed up on X-rays, but he’s going to have a tough time walking on it, so he’s going to miss some time."

Kaleta was injured 2:16 into the 5-4 loss to the Penguins after blocking a shot by Martin Skoula. Kaleta tried one more shift later in the period but headed to the dressing room after that.

"I’m not going to put any time frame," Ruff said. "It’s possible that he could start feeling better by tomorrow. It’s just how it responds."

Always glad to get a key cog back. Though I've been impressed with the way we've played, particularly the energy level we've carried late in the game without Kaleta. If everyone on the team played as hard as Kaleta we'd win the Stanley Cup every year.
