| Post subject: | Hockey Leagues Pecking Order |
I am very familiar with the NHL and AHL, I know a little about the ECHL and QMJL, and I've seen games in Las Vegas and Tulsa. Could some knowledgeable person educate me as to the pecking (skill level) order of the minor and junior leagues. An inclusion of the KHL and the European leagues would also be appreciated. As I know it now, it would look something like this: NHL KHL AHL Swedish Elite League ECHL QMJL Any additions or corrections would be greatly appreciated. |

the IHL is considered AA hockey, same talent level as the ECHL, but the league is not as prestigous. it used to be the UHL. theres also a new single A hockey league in its second year kickin around the great lakes. |

Weren't Tulsa and Vegas in the IHL? Can't remember for sure and haven't looked at a newspaper since Al Gore invented the internet. |

that was the first IHL. the current IHL is just the old CoHL/UHL rebranded. |

The USHL is bascially Candian Major Junior 'A', at least that is what I ahve been told. |

no, im being technical. you keep saying major junior A, when theres major junior, then just junior A. junior order goes: Canadien major junior junior A junior B junior C |
