Apparently his previous deal was directly with Portland. (Also explains for those of you that questioned it why he was not called up.)

So, if someone were to infer something from this...would it be that he was signed to an NHL contract so we'd be able to bring him up here at some point this season?

I've not been that impressed with enroth. He's got tiny stubby little legs, terrible lateral movement and cant seem to freeze a puck thats right on the ground in front of him to save his life. I wonder if leggio is any better?

That's what I thought in the first place, so now we have two young goaltenders for the future.

That could be, but he has been putting on quite a display down in Portland.

The Buffalo Sabres goalie factory continues to produce. Gotta love it...

Hold your horses, kids. The ONLY reason Leggio has been doing so well in Portland is because he's getting outstanding goal support from his skaters - he's currently the owner of an ugly 2.71GAA.

I hate to say it, but that's better than Enroth's 3.51GAA. The defense in Portland is not exactly stellar these days either.

First significant season of AHL duty

Ondrej Pavelec - 2.77
Tim Thomas - 2.87
Tomas Vokoun - 3.49

Guess what this week's Vulgar Stats is about :P

GAA doesn't matter at all, remember that.

for the umpteenth time. GAA is just a reflection of save percentage/shots per game. the shots per game is a variable completely out of the goaltenders hands. if a goaltender faces 3 shots in a game, stops 2, and has a "sparkling" GAA of 1.00, but a rotten save percentage of .667. while a goaltender facing 50 shots, allowing 3 goals has a "mediocre" GAA of 3.00, but a sparkling save percentage of .940. tell me whose had the better game? when gauging a goalies performance, the save percentage statistic is the most telling stat.

GAA is a glamour stat in essence, and nothing more.

leggio is the owner of an extremely solid .917 save percentage. hes facing alot of rubber.

So Leggio is 26 already? How old was Hasek when he took fire?
