These...rock n roll abortions are the two worst bands I have ever heard of. They make Pavement sound like Led Zeppelin. KoL literally got shit off stage by God's pigeons. A miracle really. Nickleback? There's not much I can say about them, they simply define Suck. But who is worse? |

its no contest; nickleback. KOL isnt that bad, in fact, i am cool with a few of their songs. the thing about nickleback is i cant tell if im listening to them, or puddle of mudd, or seether, or staind, or whatever.. and thats what sucks. its not just one shitty band, there is a plethora of shittiness. either way, they are so boring and so crappy, its absurd. and the funny thing is, people actually think they are talented and original. |

This. KOL isn't terrible, I'm just tired of that one song that's popular. Nickleback sucks so much, it's not even funny. You actually make a good point that you cannot differentiate them from most other mainstream modern rock bands. Although I find it hilarious that KOL got shit on by pigeons and then left the stage because of it. |

Listen to Kings of Leon's first record, the one with Molly's Chamber. That Kings of Leon is awesome. Current Kings of Leon blows. Also, Nickleback has always and will always blow. |

not gonna lie though, fox tried to buy the rights of KoL songs so they could use them in the TV show "glee" and KoL was all.. fuck no, were not selling out to that show. |

Totally, Nickelback, Justin Bieber(he's canadian right?), Simple Plan, etc give canadian music a bad name... fortunately, real music fan can recognize that we have some pretty good bands too. |

I'll admit that Molly's Chamber was an okay tune, but everything else I've heard from them is total crap. And the fact that the radio continues to overplay them makes me hate them. I don't think either one of those bands deserve their success. |

Go right ahead, I don't care what you say. KoL I don't listen to them so I really have no idea what their music sounds like, and I don't really listen to Nickleback but the songs I've heard are good. Heck, most music that has come out in the past 10 years is all garbage that sounds the same. True music came from the 60-90's. Any 2000 crap is just that crap, unless it came from a band formed in the 90's or earlier. |

Nothing compares to the bands in the 60's-90's I'm sorry, when I hear a song of today I can't tell you who did it, but if I hear the guitar of someone say Van Halen I instantly know it's him without ever knowing the song title. Same can be said of Randy Rhoads and plenty of other incredible guitar players, Paul Gilbert also. SRV, Page, and Hendrix. I've yet to find a guitar player capable of doing just that now. The legends and ones we all talk about and strive to be are them. |

I just love the way music was played in the 80's. Those guitar players are one of a kind and so many awesome bands were around during that time, and still tour today because of how great their music was and still is. I don't like simple barre chord songs, except I do love me some Offspring, I like flashy guitar solos and the perfect playing. Randy Rhoads is by far one of the best technical players, Paul Gilbert is also one of the best technical players out there. |

there are plenty of great great GREAT guitarists. omar rodriguez lopez? i mean, i dont like TMV, but the talent in that band is unmeasurable. i mean, you listen to band like explosions in the sky, sigur ros, this will destroy you, do make say think.. you are looking at bands that will evoke the most deep and severe of emotions one can feel. zeppelins great and all, but lets they arnt a band that would pull at your heart strings like some bands of today (but its a different genre, so... im not sure this theory works in this particular argument) you like classic music, thats all well and great, but that doesnt mean todays bands lack that talent and ability. |
