 Could it be that Lindy is FINALLY going to bench the ONE with so much potential seeping from every orifice!? Could we finally be getting our wish!?

I have such mixed feelings about Butler. What happened to the poor kid? He was playing great, and then he just fell off the face of the earth.

I think the kid needs some time in the press box and maybe get his head back because he sure doesn't look like he did last year.

please give him a break.... heck can we send him to portland without the chance of losing him... if so, bring weber up for a few... let butler regain confidence in portland... if there is fear of losing him, then let him sit in the press box for a few games... haven't liked what i have seen from him... tentative... afraid to pinch... can't hold the puck in along the boards...

Id love to see a re-paring of Sekera and Weber... see if they can find some of that play off magic of a couple seasons ago! Itll also give Weber some needed time up with the big club because he will most likely be up full time next year...

I think sitting him would be a great idea.

I was going to say can he be sent back down to portland. I mean maybe he needs more time down there to at least find himself again. In the meanwhile see what grags, and weber can do. See what the state of such high touted prospects really are.

Butler with at least a small bit of potential beats an old fart like montador that'll never learn how to pass the puck.

This.

But he redeemed himself. So does that make him a +/- of 0?

This!

I said we should send him back down to get his head in the game along time ago. I wouldn't mind seeing Weber come up either. Pair him up with Sekera, see if we can get some old magic going. Put Lyds with Rivet and keep Hank and Tyler together. Put Montador in the PB and see if he can figure his problems out.

I don't think Butler can be sent down without having to clear waivers with the amount of games he has played. It's something like 100 games or so?

Can we put Butler on a conditioning stint for regained confidence at all?

He's not that bad. A benching would get his head in the game, but he is still a decent defensemen.

I'm sure Rivet's stench-worthy stretch is the reason his +/- is so bad. Lindy likes to claim "your stats are your stats", but he knows who's on the ice with you controls your +/- to a great degree. I hope Butler gets pissed at him, and plays better out of spite. Then rambling on about soupy. Maybe it's time for some pre-playoff neurosis. Expect mad line juggling.

Defense has looked pretty good without Chris Butler.

You must have been in the kitchen or bathroom when Rivet and Montador were playing.

I wasn't paying specific attention, but the Rangers were limited to one goal.

All in all, it was a good defensive effort.

Thanks to back-checking forwards bailing them out time after time after time. They were putridly pathetic.

But isn't it a team sport which is only possible if the forwards help the defense?

I mean, the defenders jump up and help the forwards on offense, the offense needs to do the same thing on the backcheck.
