We just won the division as the culmination of one of Darcy's 5 year plans (maybe less, maybe more) and THIS TEAM IS NOT GARBAGE. There are no glaring holes, what do we need? A BACKUP goaltender, a PP quarterback, maybe a little added toughness sprinkled around, and maybe another vet to balance this team, but holy ass we don't want to blow shit up just for the sake of making moves. We could take care of the backup goalie and a vet presence by signing Biron (probably not gonna happen but how awsome would that be?) And i'm sure there's a PP QB or two running around that could come to buffalo.
OR we could just let our core develop, hope they continue to improve and go on our way. I really don't care. But with your moaning about darcy not doing this, and darcy not doing that is getting on my nerves especially because it's not warranted. What would you do to improve a division winning team with a large core of young guys and the best goalie in the league? Trade em all away and hope someone sticks?
I don't think we need to blow the shit up and I agree adding one or two quality guys would be a huge difference. I'm just hope Darcy and Management don't plan on sitting there when free agency starts and do nothing.
The emergence of Myers and Miller wanting to be the USA starting goalie last year I believe had alot to do with them winning the division. I just hope Miller keeps that same work ethic like he did last year! Who cares about winning the division the real season starts after you make the playoffs. Most don't care about individaul trophies or division titles if you get bounced in the playoffs. I'm not saying their failure's but the ultimate goal is the Stanley Cup isn't it? I'm just getting tired like most people of Darcy and or Management sitting there and doing nothing like they have for the last couple of years to improve the team. I know in hockey you can't build a winner quickly but a couple of strong moves in free agency as long as your not overpaying could really propel this team to being really good like when they won the president's trophy.
