You and me both. I didn't expect much anyway but I think Regier probably wasn't planning on doing much until Tallinder and Lydman both walked and then he probably figures shit I better start looking for a d-man now. I think like he said he was throwing offers out to free agents forwards but wasn't really looking at defense until both walked. I would really love to know what Tallinder and Lydman were both offered by the Sabres. It's probably a slap in the face.

Myers will play 35 minutes a game.

To be honest, I like our defense right now! Myers is awesome, Rivet playing healthy is a very solid player, Butler is hopefully over his horrific sophomore slump, Leopold is solid, Weber could be pretty good, Sekera has potential (I hate that word), and Monty could be a solid #6.

It isn't that bad, guys. Really.

Regier signed Leopold after Lydman signed with Anaheim and before Tallinder signed with NJ. Regier quite possibly had the chance to match Tallinder's offer but didn't, and if so I don't blame him one bit. I'll take Leopold instead of Tallinder for 375k less every time. I'd take Leopold over Tallinder at even money.

The Lydman situation got hung up on the difference between a two or three year term. I'm not sure why that mattered so much, but either way I don't think Lydman is worth another 3 mil per at age 32. Weber is ready to step up, and he's meaner and nastier. He'll be sure to make mistakes, but he's a worthy prospect to replace Lydman for 2.15 mil less.

Pretty much my thoughts on things.
