And I thought Fetisov was pronounced feh-ti-sov

i think the way im reading the le, its too sharp. he talked about it on red wings live once. and people STILL think its legacy. like, ya know, legacy.

i think were on the same page on fetisov, its just were spelling it differently. local dialect on different names fascinate me. my own mom and her brother argue about their last name, and its hysterical.

You all fail at missing Sarcasm. I don't care how they pronounce their names, but if they stopped trying to correct people then it's their own fault. :P

It's like Toews, I still don't get how it's suppose to be Taves, but I call him that anyway, same with Bfugylien or however you spell his name.

Well that's the way they're supposed to be pronounced. Those players weren't lazy and actually told people how to say their names correctly. PLUS, they're good enough and well known enough in the NHL where these days, it's a non-issue.

Toews is a German name and Byfuglien is Nowegian.

Toews is a German name and Byfuglien is Dutch.

I was just using them as an example.

you all missed my original point, it was all sarcasm to begin with. Roy is Roy and he's said it before, I was joking with the Patrick Roy part about playing in America. It just fit.

I don't think Toews is technically correct as Taves either. The oe sound in German is somewhat like the long A sound, but not quite. Maybe some more knowledgeable members can correct me.

Ummm no, you guys suck at detecting obvious sarcasm.

There haven't been many posts I've made being full serious.
