Haha, I thought Vanek was good tonight, though. ...and sure enough, we went to R-V-S line, too. Hating Hecht on the Roy line. It also seems that if you play Vanek and Ennis together, it would be productive.

I can't call Vanek good when he doesn't capitalize on those chances. He is a great goal scorer and it doesn't really matter how much chances he got, he needs to score. I'd rather have him invisible with 1 shot and 1 goal than 6 shots and nothing.
I wanna see him on the RVS line too. He had good chemistry with Roy in the past and Roy is by far the best Sabre right now.

Ya, but I'd rather have Ennis than Stafford. At least right now, cuz V and the lil man seem to be our hottest forwards(aside of Royzie, of course).

It's so annoying to see Vanek swearing at himself on the bench after he misses a chance to bury a shot.

i agree with you to an extent. the thing is when it comes to line juggling or limited shifts, it really can mess a player up. if vanek gets a point roughly every 10 minutes on the ice and he gets 10 minutes of ice time a game hes a little over a ppg player. if he get 5 minutes of ice time hes point total drops from 82-41 and we go from superstar to bust.

I know chemistry is extremely important, but Ruff isn't juggling lines just for fun. Vanek isn't producing because he's getting shuffled around, he's getting shuffled around because he isn't producing.

o yea, i agree. i think vaneks on an unlucky streak right now

Hecht-Roy-Stafford looked very good, and if people can't see that because they have an irrational hatred for Hecht and his never-say-die work ethic and superior puck possession skills, then fuck em.

Vanek was a backchecking force tonight. Honestly we've had two really fucked up goals go in against us off defensemen's skates, otherwise we'd be 1-1-1 or 2-1-0.

Vanek failed to amaze the Sabres' faithful, again, last night. He needs a period off to compose himself.

Roy leads the NHL in goals and points right now.
