Well, when you have 28 points in 29 games you're doing something right still.

And Vanek has been too hot to be critical of right now.

I don't think anybody questioned Vanek, but while we're at it, I'm a little ticked with the way Vanek's playing. I mean, he doesn't have any assists in the past three games. :o

I'm less inclined to rip on Roy because he back checks hard and he's definitely earning his salary, and I can't say that for everybody on the team.

I think Vanek, McCormick, Miller, Montador, Leopold, Sekera, and Roy are all earning their salary regardless of a few bad games here and there.

I hope Roy is having a few bad games and not becoming notorious like Vanek does in long cold periods.

Roy is doing just fine judging by his numbers and the roles he's been asked to perform for the team.
I have no complaints on him save that one moment he brainfarted in the last game vs Boston, all alone, infront of the net, just him and Tim Thomas and he just threw it into his body.

Surprised that OldTimeHockey hasn't been in here. He was bashing Roy every chance he had during the Pens game. Especially after that intercepted pass that turned into a goal.

I just wanna see 1 game where he doesn't have a bad turnover. Granted I don't get to see a lot of Sabres games...but every time I watch one...he has usually more than 1.

Watching him is a lot like watching Peyton Hillis carry the football. He coughs up the ball 3 times, but only gets burnt by it once. Derek coughs up the puck 2-3 times and Miller bails him out...

He was God awful during that game. How can your "A" cough up so many pucks and scoring chances?

For $4M he's not a bad player at all, but he's definitely got big holes in his game that all the puck bunnies and puck daddies seem to gloss right over.

Neidemeyer took over for him tonight, but the pass into the back of Myers skates on the PP and the other turnover I saw....come on Derek. He turns in a great play on Stafford's third goal....that's what makes him so frustrating for me to watch.

If he just cut down on the boneheaded plays, he'd be the best player on this roster. He again had the netminder beat and whiffed.....but the whole team seems to have caught a case of the rubber stick flu.

I mean yay, he backchecks like a demon most of the time...but when you give up the puck just before your tenacious backchecking comes into play...color me less than happy.

Like I said...people just gloss over the negatives with this guy.

I mean you didn't mention the whiff when Rask was beaten (when the score was tied 2-2) or the pass to Myers which cost the team about 25 seconds on a PP and was lucky it didn't turn into a scoring chance...ON OUR OWN PP.

I wanna see the stat on PP f-ups that lead to PP scoring chances and goals against where Roy's involved.

If you're gonna wear the "A" you would think you'd try to cut out some of those bonehead plays.

I agree that Roy has holes in his game, but I don't think people are glossing over the negative, people just became a bit more forgiving because of the way he started the year.

Hockey is a game of bounces, they don't always go your way. You whiff on accident, not on purpose.

I'm way more forgiving to these players about some of the turnovers or whiffed passes or missed shots ever since I started playing hockey.

You can't always have a perfect shot every time. And you can't always make that perfect pass every time. And you sometimes can't hold the puck in the blueline either.

Every player has holes in their game, Crosby's is he isn't physical enough and he lets the pressure get to him very quickly. Ovechkin, he's too wreckless sometimes and isn't the best guy to put on the ice when you're up by a goal trying t protect a lead.

Crosby let's pressure get to him? Is there any evidence that supports this theory at all? Gold medal game, in ot, on home soil against the US. Is there anymore pressure than that? I think we all remember how that ended. 20 game point streak is no pressure at all eh.

I think be pressure he meant puck pressure in the flow of the game, not external pressures.

I think YOU'RE glossing over the positives. He makes a few mistakes and you're on him. Blame some of the other fucks on this god forsaken team, but don't blame our point leader.

I would say the positives outweigh the negatives, and you're just trying to be negative about him. But hey, that's just me. :D

Yea, this is what I meant, keep hitting him when he touches a puck, you can notice he gets frustrated.
