I think it's more of an incurable virus that afflicts talented players left in FLA too long. Look at Bouwmeester as well...both players were doing excellently as Panthers and have stunk it up since leaving. (Both also play for Calgary...hmm...) (Also, Luongo must be immune...except in the playoffs BAZING)

True. I also think that any team in the league is going to get goals over a stretch of time...and Florida was just bad enough that Olli was the only one on the roster that could do it.

Still Jay's original point is valid. Imagine a Vanek/Ennis/Dustin Brown, Bobby Ryan, Corey Perry, etc... type of line. Will probably never happen, but gaaaahhhh

Out of the three you mentioned, Dustin Brown is who I'd want most. Ryan and Perry are both players who, like Roy and Vanek, are better with the puck. Brown's crash and bang game would benefit Vanek a whole helluva lot.

Ya know, the guys who are kinda the unsung heroes but make players around them better. Clowe, Langenbrunner, Penner, etc, good size boys, with some skill, and the will to work along the boards and behind the net.

Oh yea I forgot about Penner. What a wasted career he's had thus far. Not his fault, just the Oilers are shitty....

Yea it's no doubt either Penner or Brown would be able to open up a lot of space for our other players, and
perhaps take some pressure off.

Probably difficult to make a deal for either, though.

I think Penner may actually be available soon. Especially with Edmonton doing a total rebuild the past few years. I mean he's going to cost a 1st rounder and a solid prospect, but I really feel like he could be had for a Luke Adam and a 1st; both teams would benefit, but I dont see us moving Adam; I don't really want us to, but if it could bring in Penner it would be a fair trade for both teams.

Yea Adam is one of our best future players. I do not know why Neider plays and Adam doesn't.

Penner is lazy and unmotivated. And its not just because he plays in EDM, he just doesnt give a fuck. Won a ring in his first seas and then gets a 450% raise. He hasn't skated hard since his rookie year. Do not want.
