I know we were dead last in the conference at one point. I don't know about the league, but it was probably close.

Brad Boyes;

21GP with Buffalo, 5G, 9A, 14P, +2

Well worth our 2nd round pick

BTW, Dustin Penner in 18GP with LA: 2G, 4A, 6P -And they gave up a lot to get him.

Since January 1:

Vanek: 19+29=48/43, +14
Stafford: 21+16=37/40, +14
Pominville: 16+21=37/45, +11
Connolly: 7+21=28/43, 0
Gerbe: 15+9=24/40, +10
Myers: 5+17=22/45, +8

And that makes the Sabres the best team in the East since then.

And that's a very balanced scoring attack, which makes us dangerous

Then in the next segment another panelist states that getting Thomas Kaberle off the Toronto roster was the best thing to happen because he got complacent with loosing.

So changing 1 player is a concrete move to effect positive change, but changing who writes your check is some sort of aberration?

Yeah, no Toronto-bias there....

I still believe that was a horrible trade for Boston.

Living just outside Boston, there was a wave of suspicion that Kessel was too much of a prima donna for Julien to stomach. With Savard iffy to ever get back to form....having that Seguin kid will help a lot down the road. Top centers are just such a premium in this game right now.

I like Kessel as his shot just seems to have eyes. But this trade was sure a heck of a lot better than what they got for Joe Thornton...3 guys who didn't last 2 seasons on the roster.

How was it horrible? They literally gave up nothing for a proven pmd. And one of the better pmd's to boot. For an underwhelming former first round prospect, a late first in a weak draft year and a conditional second. TBH its a pretty even trade imo.

I guess "horrible"was a too strong a word, but I just don't like Kaberle. I've never been impressed with him...

That guy's missing the point. Kaberle may have been a malcontent, but the Leafs made him that way. One player holds that much sway over a team's psyche, but a complete paradigm shift from the top of the organization on down is a "placebo?" It has absolutely nothing to do with the trade or what the Leafs got for him. Its about a commentator passing along the widely held theory that one of the longest tenured players on the team was one of the largest obstacles impeding its success. I mean really? Kaberle has that much pull? I think ineffective ownership, GMs, and coaches means more....I mean Ron Wilson? Really? Why not go get the latest retread name.

Let's set aside that its not even a correct use of the term for a second. It was a snide and condescending remark from a Canadian panelist who wishes his team wasn't on the selling block and had ownership that actually cares what happens to the team. IMO, that remark all pointed to how the Toronto ownership rips off and rapes its fans.

Hey TSN...diehard, lifelong Sabres fan here....I got one word for ya..."WINNING!"

I mean the Sabres are in the beginnings of Jack Welch "winning" while Toronto has experienced and continues to go through Charlie Sheen "winning." I mean really, they are the "center" of the league...the last time they won a cup there were like 8 teams in the league. F Toronto. Keep the Labatt's but F Toronto.

The fact that the Bills plays 1 game a season in Toronto makes perfect sense...two teams (that maybe up until now) seem to make wholesale changes every three seasons. The difference is that the Bills are a comparatively cheap ticket.

Not only did Monty set a career high (as pointed out in another thread), Leo did too.

The same goes for Sekera. (And you could add Weber and Gragnani.)
