Well, the last game of the season I got the CBJ broadcast on CenterIce (so most of you would have missed this).
One of their announcers mentioned he had a chat with Lindy before the game and one of the things Lindy mentioned was since Pagula took over almost all of the UFA's and RFA's have mentioned they don't want to leave and cited new ownership as the reason.
You can't say he hasn't had an effect on the players.
Again, I think you look at the stellar play of the youngest guys as being the most instrumental in the turn-around. It's hard for me to imagine that fresh faced rookies and 2nd year players who are fighting for their careers are going to be influenced to play better and harder because a new owner steps in.
Why not? On a team with no dedication financially or future wise from the ownership to build a good team they have no reason (aside from playing well to get a contract on another team) to play their brains out. On a team that is rebuilding and has backing from the top down these young guys have the most reason to play hard and secure a spot in the middle of a rising club. This team has a future and the young rooks want a spot in that....so they play like they do.
