Remind her that nobody ever got a concussion or broken vertabrae, or ever missed a shift, from falling on their ass.

I had a response to my post over on The Hockey News when I was talking about this hit. This bitch actually compared Richards hit to Kaleta opening the bench door

I'm sorry Hockeyheaven but you obviously forgot when Kaleta opened the bench door during Game 5 when he was checking Zhedev into the boards causing Zherdev to fall into the Sabres bench which could have injured HIM. Must be an oversight on your part.

First off.......Kaleta was on the bench and second.....Zherdev fell on his padded can.

…And I thought I had already heard the dumbest comment for today while at work.

What a fucking idiot.

Just a whining Sabres fan who'se mad that his team didn't have the skill or fortituded to finish off a team Sunday after blowing a 3 goal lead for the second game in row.

Hocky players all weekend have been saying that Connolly was at least partly responsible for his injury. The fact that he has a history of concussions is sad and I am sorry he's hurt but c'mon man, he is playing a violent sport and these thing happen

here's the link..second page:

My reply:
Quote:
I don't remember saying anything about the Sabres being boy scouts. My point is simply that most people, when they think of the Flyers, they think dirty hockey. This isn't an accident. I also didn't single out the Connolly hit, I gave many examples and only stopped because I figured people got the point. This is one series and the list of cheap, dirty play on the part of Philly is impressively long. The question is why does everyone think of Philly as a dirty team and why do all the fans think otherwise?

Example: Whenever Kaleta has hit someone and left his feet or charged someone you will see the Sabre's forum flooded with fans saying they like him but can't respect that kind of play. On the Flyer's forum you see nothing but "Yeah!! Hope he's hurt!!"

I love hard hits and gritty play but there's a line. Again, my point wasn't to single out one hit. My point was to bring up how odd it is that a well earned reputation for being dirty seems to baffle Flyer fans but no one else. Also, if you get out of your bubble you'll realize that fans throughout the league see Philly fans as being tactless and goon like.

Richards is now denying all media requests to discuss the hit.

Of course, what else do people do when they know they did something and also got away with it...

coughcoughrichardsisamoldytwattcoughcough.

Seriously, fuck him. He wants to pretend it never happened or is ignoring the fact he is a chicken shit cheap shot artist, that's fine. A Sabres win tonight will be the perfect burn on him and I would love nothing more than to see that sinking feeling in his eyes where he'll be so depressed that he'll want to open his own wrists on the bench with his skate blade.

Yeah, fuck him.

Some leader. Another sign that Philadelphia is a dysfunctional franchise. When your captain won't even answer for his actions, how do you think that looks? Funny how this scum bag was preaching about respect when he got chirped by Subban. When you have that C on your chest, you are responsible for everything you do. That is such a pussy move to run and hide after Miller and some hockey pundits called him out. This only bodes well for Buffalo. How does it look to the team when the captain is afraid to talk to the media? And the coach cannot find a reliable starting goalie? This team is a joke.

by the way, about 80% of captains wouldn't answer questions in Richard's situation. it is a sign of nothing.

You would think he would at least come out and play the "the game moves really fast"/"split second decision" card though.

I disagree.

A real captain would answer questions about it. He'd probably spin it, and give you non-answer answers, like say something about how he was just trying to make a play, didn't mean to hurt him, yadda yadda, but he'd stand there and answer it.

Completely ducking the media over it? Weaksauce.

i think in the regular season more would answer, but i'd bet you dollars to doughnuts in a game 7 situation that almost every captain would decline to talk about it. the less distractions the better.

Well, to that end, most captains in the league wouldn't do crap like that to have to answer for later. :)

I would be surprised if it's not. When I played a ton of street hockey back in Rochester, one of the kids i played with was a HUGE SY fan, couldn't finish a damn sentence w/o SY's name involved somehow..
