glad to hear the league listened to the teams complaints about the amount of back to backs we had last season.

No offense Rev, but that happens every year. That's how they do the schedules, 6 games vs. everyone in the division.

I don't think so. In fact, I think that before the lockout, it used to be a more balanced schedule, with every team playing every other team in their conference 4 times (4 X 14=56) Then playing most, but not all, of the teams in the other conference twice a year, home and away (2 X 15=30, minus 4 games= 26, 26 + 56=82)

I think so. Teams in the same division would face each other 8 times a year, and teams within the same conference would face each other 6 times a year if I recall correctly. They changed it a few years ago so every NHL team would play each other at least once a year, so it got scaled back to facing a division team only 6 times a year and a conference team only 4 times a year.

For the 08 season, they changed up the schedule to allow for 6 div games, 4 conf games, and at least 1 game vs every opp conf team.

That doesn't add up. 15 teams per conference, 5 per division. 8 X 4 (remaining teams in division)= 32. 10 remaining teams in the conference, play them 6 times that's 6 X 10=60, plus your 32 division games and that's 92 without even factoring in games vs. the other conference.

If that was it, there would be 82 games just in the Eastern Conference.

I believe it went:

8 vs. division (x4) = 32
4 vs. conference (x10) = 40
Rotational schedule in the opposite conference, where one division from the opposite conference plays in the home arena of the other team, and another division of all home games. 5 between two divisions is 10.

That's 82.
