I wanted to trade Gerbe last season while his stock was still high. He sure did turn things around though. His new deal is just a tad higher than the 1.25 mil cap hit I estimated, but it's a very fair deal, especially if he can hit 20 goals. I just hope the last three months of the season was a true indicator of his potential. He'll never be great along the boards, but he doesn't have to be to earn his salary in other ways. Hustle, drawing penalties, and hopefully turning into a solid PKer will be a great contribution for 1.43 mil.
