Not just in, we knew about it last night. Curious what his injury is....Concussion, shoulder, hang nail, what???

NHL Network said it was likely a injury to his shoulder. They said he had a problem with it last year.

By the way: Alex Edler, who replaced Erhoff on Vancouver's power play, has almost 30 points this year.

TSN was mentioning how Erhoff's production was largely the result of playing with the Sedin's on Vancouver's power play.

I would lean towards their scouting department for that. I doubt Darcy has that much brains (or time) to watch other teams games. He went to scouting and told them to find a high scoring defenseman. They go to NHL.com and search the stats for that and decide that Ehrhoff would be the best to try and persuade. I guarantee there was no due diligence when it came to making that decision. Unless Darcy and the scouting staff have put our top line on such an artificially high pedestal....That is always a possibility

Honestly, I like his shot from the blue line. I would say, when he takes the shot, he is on target 90% of the time with a bullet. He just doesn't shoot as much.... I am curious why he doesn't

Yeah, I'm leaning towards that left shoulder area. That is the side that was wrapped up with the Capitals player and seemed to have been torqued

His shot is sound. However; we could have saved a lot of money by just signing Sheldon Souray. Great shot; poor in his own zone.

In all fairness to Erhoff; he is playing in a "system" that makes defensemen look worse than they probably really are.

Ehrhoff seems to be the only one that shoots ALL the time. I don't know which games you're watching. Only problem is that all of his shots seem to be blocked whereas in the west, he always seemed to have a lot more room when shooting the puck.

Also, Ehrhoff has steadily increased his point production year by year, whether that was in San Jose or when he was traded to Vancouver. The points will come.

Erhoff's production will not come to close to his production in Vancouver with this team, as it is currently structured. To suggest it will is baseless.

He had time to shoot in The West because of the way the Sedin's played the puck around. They had to be marked, as did the third forward. Here his shots are blocked because it's being anticipated.

Teams quickly adjusted to our power play when they saw what Erhoff had in the way of a shot, and how we played to that.

We need to figure out a way to set him up for that shot by adjusting our Power play; which is not exactly the strength of Lindy Ruff - nor has it never has been.

Ok, first I watched every game so far this season and I looked at the wrong stat when I made that comment. No need to jump down my throat. He does have the highest shots for veteran defensemen on the team with 86....My bad. He just has a low S% at 3.5%. Leopold has the highest S% at 16.2%.

I have no problem with Ehrhoff, matter of fact I think it was good grab. Although I he is over-paid....

Ehrhoff has done fine and his contract is very friendly, assuming he plays for ten years. It's not his fault the PP stinks. It's slow and predictable, so PKers don't have much trouble blocking shot lanes, especially when it was SO F-ING OBVIOUS what the Sabres wanted to do, with Gragnani passing only to Ehrhoff and the PK shifting that way.

He's brought an accurate shot that we haven't had there for a while, but the PP has to be more decisive and quicker with the puck as a whole. Really, this is why I keep coming to the conclusion that it's the coaching, because we actually have a lot of players that have shown talent and production at various points in their careers. We have players that have shown what we are bitching for plenty of times in the past. Why can't various players progress to another level? Why do they hit listless slumps so often? Why do young d-men level off or hit a brick wall in their development? Why do FAs come here and appear to be a bust when they did well elsewhere?

What makes more sense? All but Vanek and Pominville and maybe Miller are useless and need to be chucked out the window, or that there's more potential for this roster if they had another coach and different system?

Erhoff has a cannon of a shot; and plays a lot of minutes.

His decision making is sometimes poor; and he is sometimes not used properly be he who shall not be mentioned... agreed.

I've read it's a rib injury. I can't find where I've read it though.

Ehrhoff has 17 points in 37 games. That is .459 points per game. In 82 games, that is about 38 points which would be fine. If he doesn't miss significant time, I would be willing to bet he gets around his average of 40 points.

He only ever had 50 points once. That was last year, when Vancouver led the league in goals scored.

Ehrhoff was a good signing, especially at 4 million a year.

On the replay, looked like his head hit the ice hard on the way down, and I was wondering if it was a concussion.

On the other hand, a bad way to lose a key player.
