I like this move, and think Kennedy will benefit from having Kaleta's speed and skill at the wing to add more offense. In fact, I think Kaleta's overall game and skills have improved to the point where a permanent move to the 3rd line might make sense. Extra minutes of Kaleta on the ice can only be a plus for the Sabres, and his overall game seems more suited to the 3rd line now than Grier's.
At this stage in Grier's career it wouldn't be the worst idea for Lindy to move him to the 4th line permanently. Gaustad and Grier played very well together in the preseason, so the chemistry is certainly there. Besides, Grier's lack of speed and offensive skill wouldn't be as much of an issue on the grinder line, where his toughness and work ethic are what matters most.
On a side note: How great will it be having two young Buffalo area boys playing together on the same line for the Sabres? Gotta love it.
