Pierre Lebrun is one of my favorite hockey writers.

Today, he posted two articles featuring the Buffalo Sabres; one on Tyler Myers, and the other on the Sabres proving themselves this week.

Give them a read!

Buffalo's Big Easy:

Quote:
The NHL's all-time winningest coach sat down for a game Oct. 24 in Tampa Bay and marveled at the 6-foot-8 rookie blueliner logging the puck up and down the ice for the Buffalo Sabres.

Scotty Bowman, whose six decades' worth of hockey knowledge would need several hard drives to store, is not easily impressed. But he was on this night by a 19-year-old kid named Tyler Myers.

Big Week Ahead for Buffalo Sabres:

Quote:
There are windows in a long NHL season that provide you with a nice barometer of what a team may be all about.

I think we have that this week with the Buffalo Sabres. Three home dates and three contenders in town in New Jersey, Washington and Chicago.

To me, at the end of that three-game set, we might know a little more about this Sabres team, which wants to belong with those elite squads.

Problem is, Sabres coach Lindy Ruff was having none of my theory when I put it to him Tuesday after practice. He didn't see any difference from these games this week than any others on the schedule.

I like LeBrun, as well - A perceptive, knowledgeable, level-headed writer and a sound analyst.

Thanks for the articles; both good reads.

I think the article on Myers is just superb! Completely true too. He truly is an amazing rookie thus far and definitely looks to be one of the best in the league come a few years down the road. Keep it up Tyler!

He sounds like quite the cool kid as well. Own apartment, cooks and does his own laundry, he really ain't a baby! This just shows the maturity at such a young age. Another fantastic thing about the kid.

As for the other article, once again 100% accurate. If they don't show that they can compete with the best this week or rather with this months insane schedule I don't see such a high placement come the end of the regular season.

Montador scored the goal.
