I was thinking about Ruff's actions after the New Jersey game and the speach he must have made. First I thought of something like Herb Brooks but I found something that is a bit better.

Feel free to name players in the dressing room that might be a Sabre. I think Stafford would be the guy in the beginning.

-you lolly-gag around the neutral zone, you lolly-gag around the net, you lolly-gag on and off the bench. what does that make you?
-lolly-gagers....
-lolly-gagers....whats our record?
-16-9-2
-16...9...2....how did we ever win 16?
-its a miracle
-its a miracle. This is a simple game. you skate with the puck, you pass the puck, you shoot the puck. you got it?! now we got 8 games in the next 2 weeks. get your shit together.

you know, having a winning record kind of kills the whole momentum of this speech.

Ya, the record thing is decieving as can be though. 3 wins against competitive teams with talent and atleast 6 defeats against. 2xBruins, 1xDevils, 1xRangers, 1xCaps and 1xSens.

That doesn't impress me much. Making the playoffs is not the goal of any team in a season. Winning Lord Stanleys Cup is. We ain't got it right now. We will never defeat these teams in the playoffs with the current roster we have. So sad, yet so true. Make a fuckin trade Darcy, please.

I'll never accept that argument. A win is a win, a loss is a loss. I've never bought into the good win/bad win theory.

Well Squanto, its not a good nor bad win theory. Its a tell tale sign that Buffalo currently does not have the talent on the team to defeat these teams that are more offensively aggressive.
As is always the case, scoring = victory, ask the Rags, Caps, Bruins, Devils and Sens.

So you want to ask two teams who are lower than us in the standings and a team who is one point ahead of you and having played two more games than yourself?

The Devils, well they don't really score too much, they play stellar Defense.

You want to ask a team about offense, you ask Washington, the Penguins, San Jose, or even Chicago.

Sky, I was keeping it defined to a possible playoff series scenario. Not only the regular season. But hey, ya, I'll go ask those teams that beat the best goalie currently playing hockey for victories just what they think about scoring and victory, sure.

It's not like they lit up Miller. Not one of those teams except Jersey put more than 2 goals in on Miller in regulation time.

I'm gonna agree with Squanto. There's no difference. A win is a win is a win in hockey. Don't forget we completely shut down the Caps, as well. We've beaten New Jersey. We ran into a solid Lundqvist, and we had plenty of chances on him. We're not a bad team.

We're not the best team, and we're a team I don't see making it past the 2nd round of the playoffs. However, I do believe this is one of our better teams, especially since Ryan Miller has finally stepped into the elite category.
