they are actually one of the hottest teams in the NHL, with a great 7-2-1 in their last 10 games. they are quietly climbing out the eastern conference cellar.

I think I might root for them now.

My weaknesses are comebacks and underdogs.

So is this team the coldest in the East now?

You realize we were the first team to shutout the Capitals in 11 months, oh and they arre the leagues highest scoring team and we kept them to 0 goals.

Our team is a defensive team with flashes of offense. Like it or not, this is what Ruff wanted from everyone of his teams throughout his coaching career.

This team has a great goalie right now. You tell me who's "flashing" right now?'

We did score three goals against a Capitals team, because of the defensive play of the team.

I don't see how any of those goals can be attributed to defensive play.
1. Montador - His goal was a blast from the point with Gerbe screening, aggresive forechecking led to this goal, thats offensive play
2. Gerbe - His goal was once again due to aggressive forechecking, no defensive play involved there either.
3. Tallinder - Although he is a defenseman, he skated up ice and put some moves on in the nuetral zone, then followed through his shot for the rebound, that sounds like an offensive rush to me.

I do however, contribute the victory to the defensive play and of course Ryan Miller. It was awesome to see them put the lockdown on Ovie and the Caps.

I for one need to say one thing, it involves two numbers.

2-4, the number we are WITHOUT Grier.

If Grier is injured and cannot play for the playoffs, I say we put him on the bench anyways...

I didn't witness any of the goals actually, but you did so I'm going with your judging.

But defensive play also stifles the opposition so they tend to make more mistakes when trying to enter the zone and such.

Meh, none of those goals made any of the core forwards look any better.

As for tonight's game. I missed most of it at work, but I'm still not gonna lay off any of the forwards. They aren't flashing enough for me to feel less troubled. I think any sane person is still a bit worried about goal-scoring at this juncture. If ya want me to give someone a hummer to even it up, it seems the "system" really is working if Lalime is getting wins. May I now make shady shit ass troll post to anyone who doubted Lalime???? I could, but I won't, but only because I'm not immature(when I'm not too drunken).

As much as tonight's win restored some faith in Lalime, one win does not a redeeming effort make. This will silence the naysayers temporarily. He'll need to win his next couple of starts, or lose with a strong effort, to silence the nay-sayers (myself, included).
