Yup that was him. Definately not one of my favorite posters. When Miller got hurt the GDT got wicked annoying for a short time because Lalime was sucking big time and every other post was him in Friggin Huge text screaming how it was everyone else on the team that was to blame, not his boy toy fantasy Patty.

I remember going at it with him a few times as well. That was fun.

I'd rather see more Enroth than Lalime.

I guess I don't get all the dislike for Lalime. He's more than adequate for a backup. Sure, he did have a few not-too-good games last year, but he also had a lot more that he played real well in.

When Miller got injured, Lalime played quite well given the circumstances. He had some games where I don't think Miller would have even done any better.

But the team around him crumpled...their mindset changed. That was the problem.

Enroth should stay in Portland, where he'll see more playing time and have a chance to develop. He can be called up if need be, but I'd feel more comfortable with Lalime than Enroth in most circumstances.

LaLime played out of his ass a few games and lost a few one goal games when Miller got injured, the team around him played like shit was his problem.

The defense hangs Miller out, he stands on his head - The defense does the same with Lalime....well...They need to step up, for him

A back-up is a back-up for good reason. Adjustments are needed. He should be a better goaltender, after his surgeries - If he gets a few more starts, and gets some support from his "D".

Not ready to throw the towel in on him, just yet.

The team couldn't score to save their lives then, I remember quite a few 2-1 or 3-1 games with LaLime, and LaLime kept them in the game for about 40 minutes tied at 1 or 0 for alot of his games.

Very good point regarding rebound control. Miller is definitely head-and-shoulders above Patty, when it comes to smothering or controlling the play.

A lot of goalies start having terrible problems (Carey Price) when they stop absorbing the initial shot, and allow the play to continue. They give up the advantage of making the choice to control (hold) the puck, and allow opponents the opportunity to regain posession.

Playing for the face-off may be conservative, but it's a percentage play; a smart play.

One thing last year about Patty was that after he lost a few the offense was coming back to halp out and they all played scared. Didn't make for a great deal of scoring. Hard to play fast and free when you're worried your goalie can't stop what gets by you.

I like Patty and think he plays well but I'm a supporter of any goalie that does a good job so I will support whoever is in net.

True. These Sabres have a notorious tendency to release "underachieving" goalies, only to see them go elsewhere and do just fine.

Funny, how the current system isn't re-evaluated, based on this trend alone.
