Is HSBC that quiet and dead during the games????
Yeah, It's kind of ridiculous how quiet it is. Unless we are up by four goals the crowd is dead. It is so hard to get a let's go Buffalo chant going... listening to the Washington Capitals crowd compared to ours is a complete contrast.
Our fans just don't get how much the team actually feeds off of our energy... the atmosphere the fans use to bring to HSBC was pretty much the only thing we had going to attract other players to this team. Now it's almost like everyone is affraid to put their heart into this team in fear of another let down.
I don't think it's that bad. The two most recent games I've been to, shootout losses to Ottawa and Coloarado it was pretty loud. When you can get up for Colorado, that says something.
I think some of it has to be our fan base, which is reasonably intelligent hockeywise. I am a loud fan, but when I'm there I often get caught up in watching some of the little things, line changes, bench interactions that you don't always see on TV.
when im at an event, i end up taking in the environment for a period or two, always taking in the arena, or stadium, the crowd, its interactions... for a while, the game becomes a background concern. i end up missing alot sometimes. haha.
